We recently bought 2 acres in the country and my husbands dream was to have a wildlife pond for ducks to come in and watch from the new deck. He started with a small water hole in a natural wet area, but decided it wasn't big enough so he enlarged it. To our surprise a pair of Paradise ducks arrived the very next day. The next day mallards came right at dark. He encourages them by feeding them corn and I throw out the odd bread now and again. So next he plans to plant natural vegetation half way around it and hopefully they will stay and have little ones. He's imagination is running wild and he's talking about bringing in ring neck and golden pheasant. As determined as he is....it Will happen ![]() http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v234/CrystalN Z/parriesonnewdam005.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v234/CrystalN Z/parriesonnewdam002.jpg |
