Oh, you brat! You want to see red? I want to train it to a fence behind a garden that has mainly pink, purple, blue, white and yellow. I'm avoiding red at the moment.

Got anything other than red? A repeat bloom and fragrance would be nice! I even like the rambling roses. |

Hey Ron, you forgot Stairway to Heaven (J&P Rose). Beautiful yellow flowers, good disease resistance, outstanding fragrance. sass |

Rosa Jaune Desprez, a beautiful noisette climber in blush colors, does very well in the shade or partial shade. And talk about FRAGRANT!! Grows 20 feet tall and 10 feet wide....great for on a garage, shed or fence. Here's a catalog photo Attachments: ![]() |

Thank you for all the suggestions! I'll have to get busy looking them up. Are any of them repeat bloomers? If I planted a container rose now, would it flower this summer? Do roses put on a lot of growth their first season? See? I'm really a novice! |

Rosa Jaune Desprez blooms all summer and my scarlet blaze goes until about August. My climbers grow quickly, and extend another 2-3 feet per season. I prune them back in the fall, though. Don't know about container roses. Don't forget the epson salts, and fertilizer. |

That one is a beauty! What's a "noisette" rose? The spot where I'd put it gets full afternoon sun, so would Rosa Juan tolerate that? By container rose, I mean one grown in a container vs. a bare-root rose. I plan on planting it in the ground. |

Here's a link about the noisette rose: http://www.rosegathering.com/noisettes.html They look a little like a "wild rose" flat and very fragrant |
