UUUU WHOOOO!!! Hi PONDERS!!!!!

I still have my 90 gal pond with 5 small fish and I put a bridge (used a small child's slide) over it for a little while then put water lettuce and water hyacinths I received from a nice ponder that had too much I also put Barley Straw (way more then prescribed, didn't do much if anything after 10-12 days) and my water isn't the clearest yet but it is getting there,I can see my fishies

I met a Ponder that had Catfish in the pond to eat the algae, not sure I want to bring those indoors for winter *lol

SO how is everyones POND coming along!!!???
Mine is doing fine
Thank you all very much for all your input and help!
Now...to figure out how to over winter my pond plants...any info will go noticed!

We have a 270 gal pond with water lillys and water hyathcins (SP?) and water lettuce and many goldfish and 1 foot long KOI, we use the barley bags and add 1 cup clear white vinegar per 100 gal of water in the spring until the plants provide cover. then just the barley bag. Vinegar will not hurt the fish or plants and will clear your pond.dont get the vinegar on your plants just into the water

I have had good luck in the past wintering my tropical pond lillies and irises in the crisper in the fridge.I just took them out of the pond let the excess water drain out and put them in plastic bags. The trick I think is to leave the bags open so they can breath, I wintered everything three years in a row with no problem, Except of course the complaints from my hubby about keeping bags of dirt in the fridge for 9 months.

My pond was green also and in direct sunlight I added some barly pellets which you put in a pair of panty hoes just cut them in half fill and tie off the end. I also added some plants and water gardens magazine say add one fish per sq ft of surface water so i did. I left town for 4 days came back and my water was clear.

Congratulation PONDERS and GOOD _BYE TO GREEN WATER!!!!!!!!!!!
I have fish to enjoy them, they seem to love when I go to sit with them, even eat out of my hand!
They are all so very cool, and my little Harvey finally let me see he was still around! He was missing for quite a while, he got his legs and hopped away, but he is back

To Over Winter,...I was told that I can just clean the pond of debis and pebbles etc. put a simple bubbler at the deepest part of the pond and leave it on till the filter can be used come Spring.I was told to make a dome out of plastic, (I'm using my mini green house) I am trying to keep it clear,I love watching the fish they are showoffs*lol

Anyway,we shall see if everyone lives.
Oh I was told not to change the water and not scrub the sides free of algea.

There you have and ,and If I don't reply it is because I am not getting notifications and loose track of where I posted.

I just knew I would have clear water with NO Chemicals! And Fish and a frog!

Thank you all ,Have a great day at your POND!
Oh..Harvey is my frog that I bought as a baby tadpole he is a sweetie...

Can't believe I missed this POND area!!!

Has the Barley been helping the alge problem??? I'll need to look in to that soon as it warms up. Getting cold and fish are going dormant now and wont be long and pond will be frozen

Awhile back the GG Gremlin deleted a lot of pics. Even our photo albums took a hit! He was tarred and feathered and driven out of town, but we never know when he might try to sneak back in.
