I have lots of forsythia and would love more in other spots. How do you start one from a cutting? Where do I cut? |

Simply layer it. Fasten branches near their tips to the soil and wait acouple of monts. Should root readily. |

Where do I cut? I did cut some of the smaller branches with flowers to put in a vase. |

Ron this is probably a dumb question but could you put them outside in water say on a deck? |

I take it that its a good sign that the green foliage is starting to emerge as the flowers die off? |

Thanks Ron. My neighbour planted a Forsythia between our houses a few years ago on my property without asking me if I minded so I trimmed three pieces off yesterday and have them in water..........hee, I didn't ask permission either. |
