Greetings from Tokyo. I'm new to gardening, and I'm glad to have the resources available here. So thanks in advance for your advice. I'm growing sweet basil and Italian parsley in a pot. When I harvest, how much of the stem (if any) do I need to leave? Thanks, Scooter |

hi scooter, and welcome just snip off as much as you need or want. you can cut it back quite severely and it will just come up again, on both the basil and the parsley. |

I've heard that a weed is a plant that comes up where you don't want it. So one plant may be a weed to someone, yet not to someone else. Makes sense to me. I've seen what I consider weeds in my yard being sold in a magazine or store. Yea. Go figure.

Try submerging the pot (if possible) under water until bubbles stop. It may revive it. Otherwise, grind the leaves, place them in a little bottle, and label it "Dried Parsley." ;-] Scooter |
