I purchased some Black Eyed Susan plants and Purple Coneflowers on ebay and just got them. Can I stick them in the garden now or should I put them in a pot indoors? Can emerging plants stand a light frost (just in case)?

They come from mature plantings..

My black eyed susans and cone flowers etc are all showing new growth and new leaves. we are having snow tonight and our last frost date is in May, they always survive a ligth frost. Are your new ones bare root? or did they come in their own peat pots? If you keep them in the house in a pot, you would have to hardend them off before planting them any way. Any way you can keep them out of the sun but on the south side of the house?

I think I would pot them up and put them in a protected area outside then plant them when it warms up some.

They came with leaves and came in soil in a plastic bag. They were dug up from the outdoors.

Kat, chaces are they are acclimated to warmer temps than you are experiencing yet. I agree with IR.
