After I relocate a lavender, I have room for one more perennial in my garden that gets full sun. What would you choose? It's at the corner of a deck, middle of the garden bed. Orange crocosmia is behind it, daylilies, lavender, and sedum "Autumn Joy' surround it. My thoughts so far are one of the new white coneflowers with an orangey brown cone or a deep blue salvia. It needs to be about 3 feet tall. Here's a pic from last July. The white daisy-like plant (feverfew?) has been moved. The plant would go right between where the little clay pots are. If you look closely, you can see some lavender in there now.

Good question, Foz! Mid-summer to fall would be my preference. That's when we use the deck the most.

I think coneflowers are a good choice Sweetle. Here's a pic of mine to let you see what they attract.

I did, Ron. I'm afraid that at 12-18 inches high, it will disappear as the taller plants fill in around it. I think I need something twice that size.

I'm still thinking. The white coneflowers would be a nice choice as they'll glow in the twilight.
