I don't go in there because I'm allergic to poison ivy. But you see, I don't even know what's going on upstream because there are houses there, too. I saw someone dumping plastic bags and stuff right behind our property, and I told the guy that he couldn't do that. Ha! I made up my own rule. Then I put a "No Dumping" sign up until people got the idea that it wasn't going to happen behind our house. Why would we want a view of trash bags, let alone what it does to the environment?

In my garden I have a lot of little points of interest. The birdhouse is one that I made using a birdhouse from a local craft store, some paper, and glue. I love doing Decoupage! And when you can make beautiful things like this who wouldn't? I have others in my garden too but this one is just so bright and cheerful I thought I would share. The next picture is of a mosaic stepping stone that a friend made for me. It's a little dragonfly. Then there is my frog birdbath. I have this under a huge service berry bush in a shady part of the garden. Then there is my large dragonfly garden stake. I just love him. I let my son pick the location this year. Each year he graces a new part of the garden. And finally there is my little garden fairy rain gauge. She looks very pretty next to my Coreopsis. Thanks for looking! And the rain guage! We just got an iron tricycle plant stand by a dumpster. We just put it in the flowerbed with our frog sitting on the seat this year. Next year we'll sit it out and put something on the stand. |

Those are all really cool. I love the bright red barn, but they all have touches I like. |

I just found this thread. I am assuming that it's asking about what yard art we have. I believe someone called yard arts "conceits" as if we can improve on God's beauty and wonder, but we gardeners just can't help ourselves. I have a shell sculpture, some frogs, (like I need artificial ones!), but my favorites are chickens. I had a beautiful chicken doorstop that looked like an old-fashioned child's pull toy. Sadly, it fell over and broke. I took its tail and head and planted it in the garden. It's so cute. As a matter of fact, I believe that I have a chicken in every pot. (Hmmm. I believe that someone famous said that.) I think I have a picture of the chicken in the garden. I'll look and see. I'll have to make a few photos of others. |

This was the only pic that I could find of my "Chicken in Bed." Maybe I can take a better one. This was a year or so ago. Attachments: ![]() |

To my way of thinking, all the creative impulses we have are fed by the indwelling Spirit. So in that sense, when we embellish our gardens with art - or even when we simply choose to plant in curves instead of rows - we are not making improvements on G*D's creation, but we are adding to it. |
