I have a cement angel (painted white), two cement Victorian baskets (to be painted white), two iron butterfly planters (to be be spray painted black), a butterfly chair planter, and an iron tricycle planter. And I've ordered eight yard stakes with glass spheres in four different colors. I hope to take photos of these this summer. |

I tend to go for old things for yard art. rusty iron wheels from old farm machinery... you know... big ole fly wheels and other types of old farm stuff. Cracked iron kettles and even some ole holey tole pans. I like em to get good and full of moss and likens so they appear to have just grown in place. |

Is this a dead thread? Is yard art boring or is it non-existant?

As promised, here I am! Those glass spheres are gorgeous, where'd you get them? My husband grew up in in Paris, so he'd love the Fleur-de-Lis (sp?). I've been so wrapped up these past three springs just trying to keep up with seven garden themes, there's been no budget, time, or energy left to even shop for garden decorations. (not counting the fruit trees, one peach two apple) I do love looking at the pics you've posted, though-- please don't give up.

OK guys and gals, here I am too and I promise to check in here more often! As much as I love to see everyone's great pictures, I fear I am a photography moron and it would take a LOT more than Photos101 to cure me. I often think "gee, I'd love to post a pic of this or that" and we DO have a camera, but that is as far as I get ~ I'm actually afraid of the thing. Enough about my faults, garden art is yet another, and people gifting me with everything from birdfeeders (I have 14 and more still in the shed) and statues, the only reason complete strangers don't stop and ask for pricing is because you can't really see our house from the road. Oh ~ spray paint, YES! I consider black and gold to be absolute necessities and always have them on hand. Rust, you got it! I even have a baby mattress support that I use as a trellis. And guess what makes GREAT plant, birdhouse or anything hangers? Rusty upholstery springs ~ you can bend and stretch them to your heart's delight and they look great! I am always bugging the upholsterer-guy down the road to save them for me. So, as you can see ~ somebody STOP me. When I actually look at my yard realistically, I wonder when it got this way. But I like it ~ do you feel the same way? |

Yep, anything works in my garden, even better if it's free! KeyWee, assuming it's a digital camera, does it have a memory stick? If so, you may be able to either just insert it directly into the computer (look for a slot either on the front or back of the main computer box), or do what I did and get an adaptor. Mine's made by Sony, and it's called a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor. Camera is a Sony Cybershot. Hang on, let me get a picture... be right back. |

Here's what I use. The top photo shows the adaptor, memory stick from camera goes in there (match the notched corner, won't go in the wrong way), adaptor goes in top left ( smaller ) slot on front of my computer. It's the only way I can get a pic online that quickly. Whole process took less that five minutes, which is good cuz I gotta shower and get to work! Now go forth and conquer. BTW, how do you keep 14 bird feeders full? I can't even keep up with one...
