I would like to grow some herbs indoors over the winter. Has anyone done this and how would I go about it? I do not have window space, but I do have a light table. |

HI Vegemm ![]() HI AQ! ![]() I think Joey left! Which ones do you suppose will grow fine indoors along with transplaning out doors come steady temps in April/May in Zone 5? We wanted to start this week, and use them if we succeed till transplanting time. Thanks ![]() Kale |

I have a long thin red planter I have on my window sill. I bought starts of basil, parsley and lemon thyme. They are all growing and are happy. When ever I'm cooking its right there and I snip off a bit and add it to my stews or sauces or just about anything. Everything tastes better with a little herbs. Good Luck with it, let us know how everything turns out. |

Any of these grow pretty well indoors- Sage, Chives, Thyme, Mints, Basil, Parsley. I even had fennel as a houseplant one winter. |

I got an herb planter and seeds/soil as a gift this Christmas and am going to try growing indoors....nothng ventured, nothing gained, I always say! Once spring comes, I can move outdoors, or restart if I wasn't successful! |

I can't overwinter herbs inside. We just don't have enough light. I suppose a grow light would help. But last year I totally grew herbs just to make marinara with. Then I froze my sauce and we are still eating it. I was thinking today of doing the same thing again. But I miss fresh herbs at this time of year. |
