The black structure in the cup are the spore cases. When it rains the raindrops hit the spore case and disperses the spores. The shape of the cup helps to send the spores further out around the area.


So Ron the ones I have on a decomposing tree stump are just speeding up the process?

Those are neat, Kale. They're not edible, by the way.

I'm going to leave mine be too, even though no one seems to know what they are. Or maybe I'll make a nice soup for Sweetle.

why are so many repulsed by mushrooms/fungi? i think they're cool looking! the weirder the better, i say!

Kale, I don't know what that is either. But all these mushrooms are making my skin crawl.

Just don't leak on the leeks if you intend cooking with them.
