I too have a short growing season so i tend to start all my seeds indoors real early "like feb" These being small plants will also do well in containers and can be brought in for the winter. I have brought some of my ornamentals in this winter to see how well they do in a window. I do have some seed avail in the veggie seed trade forum. I purchased my original seed stock from http://www.pepperjoe.com if you are interested in supporting a small organic seed supplier Kale, Unlike many larger pepper varieties I have found that ornamentals tend to set fruit early. Plus being that they are for looks one doesnt need to be in a rush for them to ripen as they are beauitiful even in their unripe colors |

If I see any chances are I will try at least one to see how it does. The garden centres here are not that great. A lot of the plants we get have been cultivated so far south that they are iffy. I was very impressed with your pics and, as I said, will try at least one, maybe more depending on price etc. I don't have a really long growing season. |
