I too have a short growing season so i tend to start all my seeds indoors real early "like feb" These being small plants will also do well in containers and can be brought in for the winter. I have brought some of my ornamentals in this winter to see how well they do in a window.

I do have some seed avail in the veggie seed trade forum. I purchased my original seed stock from http://www.pepperjoe.com if you are interested in supporting a small organic seed supplier

Kale, Unlike many larger pepper varieties I have found that ornamentals tend to set fruit early. Plus being that they are for looks one doesnt need to be in a rush for them to ripen as they are beauitiful even in their unripe colors

If I see any chances are I will try at least one to see how it does. The garden centres here are not that great. A lot of the plants we get have been cultivated so far south that they are iffy. I was very impressed with your pics and, as I said, will try at least one, maybe more depending on price etc. I don't have a really long growing season.

Oh, yes, Dan......will be getting some for sure.....even my neighbour is going to get some also, after I showed her the pics.......

I have 2 (I finally found ) indoors if they make it thru the winter they will go out doors.Peppers take too long to do anything for me I get a nice pickin at the end of the season but just a few during mid season.
When I first saw that plant I was in Love no need to convince me,It's been a 3 yr love affair*LOL

Dont eat it just care for them.

I am curious as to how many of you i might have converted. How many of you plan on trying an ornamental pepper next year do to all my picture posting?

well Dan since I got seeds for the Bolivian Rainbow from ya i cant very well let them just sit..I am very excited to try it as i think it is a beautiful plant.
