butterfly bush and hibiscus question

pink500 Joined: 9/06/2005 Location: Posts: 2	Posted: Oct/05/2005 7:45 PM PST hello, i have 2 butterfly bushes one is a black night--i think and the other is silver--something--i can't remember--but anyway they both have yellowing leaves and black spots on the leaves--fungus? i know one of them may be getting too much water from the sprinklers but the other doesn't? next, i have a hibicus (it has orange flowers can't remember name) that is not blooming--i planted it in march and there have been 2 flowers--lots of buds but then they just dry up. BTW--i am in san jose, ca--zone 12? and we have clay soil any thoughts? thanks!!!! val Quote \| Reply \| Report

There is a thread about butterfly bushes that was started awhile ago. It is here http://www.gardenguides.com/forum/showthread.ph p?t=15075&page=1&pp=15&highlight=butterfly+bush Compare your leaves to those in this thread and see if you have the same thing. If not, maybe you can post a picture. As to the Hibiscus, are they turning yellow and falling off? If so, it's probably too much water of not enough. I have the same problem too.
