I have purchased some property and with it came a section of very steep roadside that I will not be able to mow. I am wondering what would be a good type of flower or groundcover to plant on the steep slope. I want something that will look nice and also require little maintanence after it is established. It is primarily a full sun area in zone 5 with good soil. Any ideas are much appreciated, thanks. Litnng |

The list could be endless, but to narrow it down, are you looking for something invasive or moderate? Something that you can mow once a year? or not at all, like Ivy, Creeping Jenny, Bishop's Weed, Lamium. Or something native to your area? |

Periwinkle would work! |

I am not sure what I am looking for exactly. If it needed to be mowed yearly, that would be fine, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I would like it to have some long lasting color to it if possible. Ideally it would be something that would be eye catching to passers by for much of the growing season, but not a solid mat of color either. Native to this area would be nice but not a necessity. Thank you for your help, any more input will be greatly appreciated. |

i found a site online for you. it has a lot of different ground covers. you may get some ideas from the list if you follow the link. most are hardy in your area, fast growing and many will tolerate full sun. http://www.quansettnurseries.com/GROUNDC.HTM |
