for the end of this day and its chores. I have 3/4th of the bank out front mulched. My son in another town is going to have to borrow our truck for a week or two, so any more mulching will have to wait.
Doesn't hurt my feelings a bit, as I have so many other things I want to do before it begins to be hot all the time. Lots of digging and moving and weeding to do. Plus the seed bed screen to make and I keep forgetting that I need to finish cleaning out the fence line. After all I did buy that chainsaw to help me with that job. At least I have not planned any more new beds. Just getting the existing beds ready for summer.
I am really seeing plants peeking up all over. It is just so exciting this season called Spring. I am going to take a few pictures tomorrow. That is if I can still walk around after eating Easter dinner at my sons house. The son that is borrowing the truck will be here to eat with us as well. So it will be a very good day for this ole mom/granny.
Received my Astilbes from Spring Hill this week and got them right into the ground. Also ordered some of those plant holders. A big circle with three legs to keep bigger plants from falling over. I think I will enjoy them. I have been making use of some old tomato cages until now. These may look a little prettier.
Going out to visit friends that have a greenhouse over flowing with veggie and flowers. They began growing in the greenhouse to support their gardening hobby. They sent pictures and it is hard to believe they have all those wonderful plants growing. They have over 300 tomato plants alone.
I am hoping he will let our Master Gardeners know when he is going to start selling. He has a little sign that he puts out at the end of his driveway, a small table under his carport that holds a scale for weighing the produce as it comes in during the summer. He has it all down to a gardening science.
Happy Easter Everyone, hope you have a great day. See you on Monday.

has been established. Will take Pix tomorrow. The Bird Bath is sitting in it's new place and seems to be level at this point in time.
I hate to say that I have enjoyed our weather, as there are so many people, including my daughter who is in the frozen trundra of Oklahoma without any power just now, and just bad weather all over the place. But here in SC we have broken all kinds of high temps for each day so far this week. It has helped me finish up some projects and I may get a few more things done before the cold returns.
They tell us this will be a dry winter but the powers that be did not tell us summer would continue. I believe Dec 22nd is the first day of winter. It would be nice if it felt a little like winter and Christmas. One year we had our family members together with some out of town. They had to leave early because it began to SNOW. If they came this year we might be able to take them swimming. Time will tell.
Was able to move all the plants out of my seed bed. Won't let that happen again. Planted fall seeds a year ago and then never got the plants moved. Now I don't know if those plants will survive from being moved just now. The one project I want to finish is the screen to cover the seed bed to keep the squirrels from digging and re-arranging the seed. I would like to know what is coming up in which row. After all I have some fantastic seeds from some of you that I want to see come to fruition.
Do you know how blinkin' heavy 50 pounds of sand or pea gravel is????? I about didn't get that sand into the wheelbarrow. Won't be lifting anything that heavy again. I will get some good lookin' muscular guy from somewhere (maybe Irby Street, Meska?) to do that heavy lifting. And I do have some huge tiles that must weigh closer to a hundred pounds that I want moved. I have hesitated to ask even my sons to do that. They were in my neighbors yard when they moved there and I asked him if I could have them (he didn't want them) and that senior fellow (which means older than myself) moved those big ole tiles even after I asked him not too. His wife told me later he felt like he really needed to rest after that. He shouldn't have done it, but a man is a man after all.
Going to see about having my ears pierced this week. I had them done years ago and all the costume jewlerly just irritated me so that I had to quit using them. Then it also left me with a little cyst in one ear lobe. So now I will have to see how they will re-pierce them and if I want to give it a try one more. I love earrings maybe more than shoes? well maybe not, but I do like them. Especially the dangle ones. Not too big but enough to be pretty. My husband wants to take me shopping for my Christmas tomorrow if he is up to it. He has taken a bit of a cold and I am doctoring him for that. Hope he will feel like going to the mall tomorrow.
All in all it has been a good two days. Taking a break from gardening tomorrow will be a good thing.
