Sat down in my appointed place in front of the double windows of the sun room and then jumped right back up. Had to run get the camera. American Goldfinch, Bluebird, Purple Fince, Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker and more having breakfast at my feeders.
No matter how many photos you take of moving things only a couple come out very well. Here are a few of the photos of today.
My first Bluebirds of the year.
Thought the Goldfinch was gone and so glad they are not.
For every Mr Bluebird there is a life mate female
This is a first sighting for me although maps show they are in this area during the winter months. This is a White Throat Sparrow.
Though at first sight this was a Purple Finch but you can see this one has stripes on its belly so this is a House Finch. His color is bright due to the mating season.
Although not a good picture, this is a female Downy Woodpecker, she on has red at the back of her head.
A few weeks ago a couple of butterflies surprised me as it seems really early to see them. This is a Pipevine Swallowtail which is a rare sighting in my yards and so pretty.
This Black Swallowtail was seen at the same time. At one point on these little flowers the few up into the air as if to say get back this is my spot. They were not a foot apart when I took these photos. Such a fun few minutes.
Yes spring is here for many of us and we should enjoy every second - seems the seasons go by quicker and quicker.
