About is not always a good thing. Rehab for the DH then doc check ups for both, then wallyworld which is not my favorite place unless of course it is in the garden center. Left home just before ten and got back about 4pm. Best part of the day, getting home again.
At least the hubby has been released from any rehab and his weak hand has vastly improved. Both those things made him very happy. Now he has to cut the sugar out of his diet and get those cholesterol levels back on track. And the x-ray of my hip was no help at all. I knew 'arthur' was lurking there without anyone being able to see him. But it is confirmed. Nothing to do but the same ole routine, excercise and med when I need it. So goes the aging process. Look out youngsters, it will hit you some day too.
I spoke with my daughter this afternoon and she is eagerly selecting seeds for the seed box then it will be on its way again. We are all eager to see what this little box holds when it comes to our doorstep. And what a great surprise I will have when it comes back to SC. I am hoping it will look nothing like it did when it left this fine state.
I have small daffodils about to bloom now. That will be a pleasant sight, to see those little yellow heads bobbing around in the yard. They are planted in different places around the yard and are some bulbs that have been around the house since before I moved here more than twenty years ago. I do move them once in a while as I go about redoing different sections.
There are several projects that await my attention inside the house. I did find some of those pesty whiteflies on my cuttings this week, so that will need to be taken care of tomorrow. And some of the cuttings need to be put into pots or potted up. Then I have a chair that was a free find by my son that needs a new slipcover. I have had that chair for a good year now and it is time to get that job finished. Anyone ever made a slipcover? Not me said the little red hen. But I will give it a better try this time around. Your brain just has to get wrapped around the situation in order to wrap the chair.
Next are two books that I have not read. Feel like I should read them before I start the counted cross stich picture I found after Christmas. It is a winter scene by the Dimensions needlework company and the sticker price was about $37. But it was on sale and decided I would go ahead and get it even if it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. Got to the checkout and the kit was $6.99. I think that was my birthday that day? and turned out to be the best present I ever bought for myself.
There is never any end to the number of projects one can create to do. I love to organize but am slow to get started. Now when I do get going I am like a puppy with a new bone to chew on. And don't bother me until I get finished. Oh dear, that reminds me of that last photo album that did not get completed. I best get busy ---- tomorrow, cause tomorrow is another day. (I always loved Gone With The Wind) speaking of which you need to read the new book out titled "Rhetts People" a pretty good read.

Was beautiful and did warm us up a bit here in the cold south. But we have the politicians to warm us up for still a little bit, then they will head to Florida and spread a little warmth there as well.
Going to be gone for a couple of days visiting my DH brother and his wife. They have had lots of health issues this past year and I am praying this year will be an extra special one.
The seed box is ready for its trip from coast to coast. Can't wait to see all the reactions as each person receives and then mails it to the next. There were some interesting things about the members that are part of this. Two different sets of people only live maybe a hour or so from one another. Small world out there always isn't it.
Speaking of the world here is a great funny I received today in an email. Hope you enjoy it.

Lastly, I am glad Max the Cat is getting his new hip. I will need a new one some day as this one doesn't always like to work as well as it should. I may have to talk to him after he has healed and ask him how it all went.

night and I have started sorting and bagging seeds. Did find some Moon Flower Seed that had gotten moldy. Had them in a plastic bag! NOT! the thing to do with fresh pulled seeds. I think a few will be OK and I will try them myself before sharing them.
I found this site some time back this year and it is really good. http://www.theseedsite.co.uk/
index.html Had to look up a plant or two to be sure I had the seed correct. Plants are a complex thing and they like to hide those little seeds some times. This site also has Seed Packets you can print out. I may do some of those as I don't want to use up all the little envelopes my DIL gave me. They are heavier and will hold up better for me during the next season. Give it a look see.
Ever go coupon shopping? What a pain. And it takes two times as long to finish shopping. But the outcome was really good this afternoon. Saved maybe 40 dollars all together. The trick to making coupons work is only use them for things you already use. I have lost money because I bought something just because I had a coupon and then did not like the product or food. So shop wisely with your coupons.
That is my good word for today,

or is it Summer? already. In my town we don't know which season we are in from one day to the other. And I know there are plenty of you having the same problem.
The sunny day made for a wonderful birthday and all the greetings I received on this site made my day even better. Did get my fingers in a little dirt on Monday pulling weeds? out of the Pansy Patch.
Today I was able to be out in this 70 some degree sunny day and cut back some dead plant tops and prune the butterfly bushes and my neighbors roses. I have been put in charge of helping them take care of those plants. He doesn't want any mulch around them because it hinders his mowing with the riding mower. Soooo I just do the best I can and will be able to do a little more this coming season, including feeding them a bit.
Finally had to call the doctor to get something for my infected earlobe. Now this med is a strong one and I am feeling its effects after just one dose. Why does the cure have to be worse than the problem? Just hope the earlobe heals well and I can give it another chance later on. Enough on this subject so it is closed.
Got a Michigan Bulb Co catalog this week. So many beautiful blooms to pine over. They give a special offer so I most likely will not be able to resist at least a couple of new bulbs for the summer.
The grands went back to school this week. My DIL is off during the same space of time and I know she was not glad to get back to those little 2 1/2 year olds in her classroom. This has been a good job for her as she is off when the grands are out of school, but it does get old. I know because I used to work at the same place but in the infant room.
The father of the grands is still deciding what to do in his yard in the way of landscaping. He has very definite ideas on design but not what plants to use. So between now and summer we will be figuring out what will be the best for him. I have offered to stay at my other sons home in another city that is close by for a week and start his beds this spring. They don't have a big lot but do have little Kahlua to consider as to what kind of beds to put in. At least she is not a whopping big dog that likes to dig everywhere.
So you can see I have already booked myself into more gardens to begin. Isn't life in the garden the greatest??

is over in the earring department. The right earlobe is truly a mess. Had to remove the earring this morning. Will not take the left one out until I see how the inflamed earlobe reacts. Looks like I was not meant to do the piercing stuff.
IT IS COLD in the south today. 23 degrees this am with wind chill in the teens. Don't know how you northerners do it. I didn't like it when I did live in it and choose not to live in it again.
Would you believe though that I have some tuff kinda Gailardia plants. Those boogers are still up and trying to bloom. So too the re-blooming iris. They are truly cold hardy.
Will be trying to settle up with Park Seed Co about my 'Red Hornlii Hibiscus' that didn't make it. Several friends and I went together and bought 11 of them. None of them did well and at least 5 just died. Guess I should see what I can trade for them before I ask for the money back. Park seed says I waited too long to notify them. RATS!
Thought I had taken down all the Christmas but then found my Nativity Scene still on the mantle. Guess it just looked so natural there that I over looked it. May just leave it up for a while. I like seeing it there.
What about this writers strike? I agree that they should some percent off their work just like the people that are making money on the different shows from the internet. Only fair I think. The biggest drawback now is that there is even less to watch on TV than when they were working. Oh well, Lost will be back soon and a few of my favorite shows did have new scripts before the strike began so I will wait it out, sort my seeds and look through the gardening catalogs.
