By the time spring came, my alocasia was dead. It didn't make it through the winter. I took the pot outside anyway in hopes it would come back. It didn't. Finally, when I needed a pot for something else, I dug up the dead bulb, and being lazy, just tossed it aside amongst the St. John's worts in my little potting area. A month or so later, I spotted it lying there, so I stuck it in a seed pot that I had. Nothing! I put a tiny volunteer marigold and vinca in the pot to grow to transplant later. They started growing nicely right out in the hot sun. The other day I happened to look more closely, and believe it or not, there was the leaf of the aloecasia. I couldn't believe it. Now it's really grown in a few days!
Can you see it there between the vinca and the marigold? I got it out of the sun so that I wouldn't burn it up! Now, the vinca and the marigold aren't happy, but so be it.
Mission for Today: Always have faith and never give up.
You can see from this picture what I mean about there's no place to put your foot in the Patio Garden. The Easter lilies just keep popping out. The petunias are rambling over everything everywhere.
Here's a view from the porch.
Just for the heck of it, I took a picture of the Poison Garden from the porch. It appears quite small, but belive me, it is huge.
The zinnias, marigolds, ice plant, and the althea have been the big show this year.
Mission for Today: Since it's Happiness Happens month, I will endeavor to make happiness happen for someone everyday this month. No bellyaching!
