Welcome Back Ruby Throats! Saw the first male Ruby Throat of the season March 15th feeding on my bottle brush bush! My son said that he saw them the day before... So happy they're back!

YAY! I'm going to get my feeder out either today or tomorrow. I probably won't see one until April as usual. |

It is a bit early for our ruby throat hummers, but with the weather so warm so early, we are putting out a feeder. |

More hummers in the yard this week! I saw two males playing hide and seek around the bottle brush bush. Not really, they were fighting over it! I also think I have a female. I didn't actually see her, but I saw one of the males doing the back and forth U-shaped flight (courting dance) that they do to attract the female. :) I haven't put feeders up yet because both bottle brush bushes and the scarlet honey suckle vine are in full bloom. Hope to have more time to spend outdoors the rest of the week so that I can see who's back! |

In Southern Georgia, if the azaleas are blooming, then you can bet you have hummers in the area! |
