I have garden peas popping up! My very first time trying these, hope I have success with them!
Bought 3 different kinds of lettuce today to plant in the garden. Not only does it look very "garden-y" in neat little squares, when square foot gardening, it actual does well in my garden - not to mention, Motley, our guinea pig loves it, too! ;)

I hope that you have some good spring weather to grow the peas. I love 'em. The problem is when I try to grow them, the weather always gets too hot for them before I can get a crop.

I found that putting lettuce in long planter boxes worked well, it was easy to pick from our patio and was cleaner than when it was planted in garden rows. I only harvest baby leaves, not whole head. Good luck and I can't wait until it's warm enough here to plant!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the peas, not only that they'll produce, but that my children will eat them.. :) I was wondering the same thing about it possibly getting too hot before they reach maturity.. As far as the lettuce goes - I have not tried the head lettuce, I've been sticking with the leafy varieties. I was told that head lettuce is harder to grow and gets bugs more easily..
