Recipe for eliminating grass and weeds

I own property remotely located that I visit several times a year in Virginia. I have a small camper and the area on the back side of the camper where I store 'stuff' is always overgrown since I am not there enough to keep it cut down. I have placed some pavers and river rocks back there but it doesn't seem to help much. Grass and weeds grows up through it after several weeks. The area is only 4' wide and 40' long. Years ago I saw a recipe for a solution one could put down that will completely eliminate all weeds and grass and anything else growing there. It will remain barren for several years. Since I own the property and this will not affect anyone else, I was hoping someone out there would have a solution. Thanks for any help you can give me. Turtle
