DH finally broke down a bought me a small tiller. He borrowed a larger one for me to use from a friend an I told him he would have to run it cuz it was to much for me to handle. So I guess being he didn't want to do the tilling he decided it was best to get me what I wanted. Anywho I'm happy with it. Yesterday I tilled up 2 beds that usually has tree roots mixed in an it did a fine job breaking them up. I planted: St. Valery Carrots, Amarillo Yellow carrots, Cosmic Purple carrots, an Lunar White carrots. Only 1/2 a bed of each. If they all come up that'll be a LOT of carrots.
Today I stayed home from work cuz I feel like crap from a head an chest cold. But if I get to feeling better I might get out there an attempt to get something done. Will see!! We are having a cold front at its only suppose to be in the 80's today. Thats tolerable! Have a great day! trudy

Hard to believe its been 31 days since I last posted. Geesh where did the time go? Since being back to work an hardly no employees its been tough playing catch up. Boy had the weeds taken over everywhere! Its taken me a month to get a handle on things. Not counting staying on top of things at home. I'm also working on my online biz which right now is a little time consuming. But things will settle down soon.
This week end I have been ripping out the summer garden trying to get ready for fall. So far I've planted: Ga Collards, Early Dividend Brocolli, 3 Kinds of Cauliflower (white, purple an green) if they all do well it'll be pretty on a veggie tray come holiday time. Planted 1 bed of Giant Carrots, 2 16' double rows of English Peas, White Vienna Kohlrabi. Still plan to plant some other colored carrots before I'm done.
I have 3 blisters on my right hand from turning the soil to mix in the manure. They will heal, but they sure are sore. I've been getting in a few small mators here an there but not enough to drag out the canning stuff, so I've been making mator powder. Found the directions in a garden magazine an tried it. Works great!
The other day at work a co worker wanted me to give here some home made jelly, she is going out for knee surgery Wed. so I gave her strawberry, raspberry an huckleberry. That morning she tried the raspberry an loved it. I knew not to tell her it was made from green tomatoes til after she had tried it. So when I told her she said she wished I hadn't told her cuz she probably wouldn't have tried it. I told her I knew her well enough to know that. Later that night she called to ask me for the recipe an how many tomatoes would it take to make it. I'm always telling DH he doesn't know what he likes til he at least trys out a new dish or item. He just wants to eat the same ole stuff all the time. BORING!!!!! So then Thurs night we went out to eat an he actually tried a vinegrette dressing on his salad, then as it was turning his mouth inside out, lol he said well I'm trying to branch out a little like YOU said do. I cracked up at the faces he was making. Well that about it for now. Happy Gardening!!! Trudy
