The last two days have been gorgeous! I was able to get the patio and part of the shade gardens raked. Only about an hour and a half work done on both days, but it made a difference. That in addition to what I was able to do last month puts me a little ahead at least. All total I have about another 30-40 hours of clean up, then I can start planting!!! To bad Wisconsin weather dictates no planting until well into May (I can start the cole crops in a couple of weeks though. All the seedlings are getting HUGE. I'm going to move them to the cold frames soon, and start another round.
The snow is all but gone. The last 2 days were sunny and 55ish. Today very chilly and rainy. I took a walk around the yards yesterday and am picturing it with the flowers starting to come up, even though I know I am weeks and weeks away from that now. Maybe we will be blessed with an early and long spring. Even though I did get qome clean up done last fall before the leaf blower died, and during the February thaw I spent 4 or 5 hours with the rake, I still have a huge job waiting for me. It's all worth it in the end.
The seedlings are all looking strong and healthy. Another 2 weeks and I can strt some more.
Colin's boss for snowplowing (whose parent also own the bowling alley), asked me to do the plantings around duplex he bought last year. A small narrow side garden and two short and wide front gardens. We have come up with a few ideas and am getting them down on paper making final choices. Looks like May will be a busy month for me. I can't wait to play in the dirt again.......
