I started getting the stuff for the Garage Sale ready today. It's too hot to work in the garden. The basement is so cool ,plus everything down there is for the sale.I need to price it all and haul it all upstairs and out into the garage.I'll wait till later on in the week to do that. It's amazing how much stuff(junk)you accumulate over the years.I just want to get rid of it ....I really don't care what I get for it.My daughter and sister are also bringing items for the sale, only problem with that,is we trade stuff and I still end up with stuff I don't need.Sometimes I end up with stuff I traded to them years ago. It's a vicious cycle......

I have so much work to do in the garden since we are back from vacation. The weeds have taken over, every plant needs dead heading, and everything needs watered.I've decided not to do any of it.It's too darn hot!I'm going out and swim with the kids in the pond. The weatherman is calling for the temps to be up in the 90's today.I start getting disenchanted with gardening around this time of year. It's too hot and humid....The heat I can take,it's the humidity that really gets to me.See you all later,SPLASH!
We had a wonderful trip. The Rockies are the most beautiful place I've ever seen.We plan on going back next year.I'll post some pics soon.I missed you all,I didn't take my laptop.I knew I'd be spending too much time on it.Glad to be home and to catch up on all the happenings at GG...Hope you all are enjoying your gardens.....Later,Sandy
I thought I'd post some photo's of our house when we first started building(march 2006) and now.Our property used to be a tree farm at one time.We bought 7 acres and our daughter and husband built first. Then he built our home.I did all the landscaping myself.I brought plants from my last house and started a gardening project that I'm still working on. Actually, the kids moved in their house in March 2006,and we moved in August 2006.Four months after moving in,I had a stroke.(brain bleed )I was in intensive care for 5 days and then home to recoup (Christmas Eve) I am fully recovered, and I thank God there are no lasting effects from the stroke. The only problem I have ,is not being interested in art anymore.I was an artist and did caricatures. I lost interest because my art looks like a three year olds...It's funny what a brain injury can do(not funny)My interests are so different, except I still love to garden. It was the saving grace for me.But,sometimes I feel obsessed with it..
We dug the pond larger and deeper(15 ft at the deepest) and put in a small beach and then stocked it with fish. The property looks so different now.I am so proud of the way the gardens have turned out....It was a lot of hard work, but it is worth every drop of sweat I've put into it.Gardening was my therapy when recovering from the stroke.I'm healthy as a horse now...I guess you just take what the good Lord gives you, I am so grateful I got a second chance at life.I won't take it for granted anymore....Take a look in my album . " BEFORE & AFTER". Sandy

Last night, while sitting in our yard watching the neighbors fireworks,I heard a little meow.It kept up for at least an hour.I took the flash light and searched out where the sound was coming from.Beside our barn was a tiny, little, yellow tabby kitten.I'm sure it came thru the field next door. They have a barn cat in the horse barn.Of course the grandkids wanted to keep it.We said we'll pay the vet bills if they take care of it.They are so excited over it.We have Lucky the cat,Ducky,Ruby(lab) Teddy(pom) and Jay,Jay(Pom). They are shared animals. We share 7 acres with our daughter, son in law and kids.We can travel and have someone to watch the house and take care of the pets. It's a great set up.....By the way,we are leaving for Colorado in the next few days.I'm not taking the computer this time,so I'll let you all know when I get back,Horefully,we'll get to meet up with "Munskinsmom" while in Denver,,,,Sandy

Did any of you see the 2yr old baby( from some far eastern country) on the news? He is a 2 pack a day, chain smoker. He started at 11 months old.It is so disturbing to think a little child is hooked on cigarettes. He is very over weight too.Thats two strikes against him. That poor little guy will not have a chance to grow up.A childs lungs aren't fully developed at age two.I think the video is on you tube ...It will make you sick.At first I thought he was a midget, but he just a baby.He wears a diaper and still takes a bottle. His parents said(thru an interputer)that he has withdrawel and bangs his head on the floor and screams. So,they give him his smokes. In the video,he's like an old seasoned smoker. He chain smokes, lighting one cigarette with the last one he smoked. He blows smoke rings and has a lighter he uses.It actually hasn;t been off my mind since I saw it on the news. What kind of parents would give a child cigarettes and think it's cute...poor,poor,baby. It's( Indonesian baby smoking) on you tube) Just google,Indonesian baby smoking. You will not believe it....sickening to say the least!
I was reading an advertisment for a local hair salon. It read, under services, eyebrow threading. What the heck is that! I have never heard of such a thing. If anyone knows what it is,please tell me.I guess I'm not too hip.Of course, why would I be.I'm 62 years old and live in a little hick town....I won't be able to sleep tonight until I find out....lol
I slept out on the screened in porch night before last. It's been in the 90's here. But,that night it got down into the 50's.It was a bad idea.I got so cold I couldn't even get up to come in the house.I knew if I got out from under the covers,I'd freeze. So me and the dog,JJ, stayed put.I was so uncomfortable,I had drug out the airbed and had visions it would be fun.Like camping in the great outdoors.I'm too old for such foolishness. The coyoties were carrying on all night, that was another reason I didn't sleep well.My husband thinks I'm nuts anyway,I guess he's certain now....
Remember,I told you all that someone from my town(Sunbury,Ohio) won the powerball.260 million dollars.Well,I think the couple is going to be on the Oprah Show tomorrow(Friday,July 2,EST 4:00pm ) I just saw a preview of the show, and it must be them. They are the only couple that has won 260 million dollars that I know of.If thats them,it's the first anyone in Sunbury has heard anything since the winning. We don't know who the winner is.I can't believe the winner would let people know they had that much money...thats nuts in my opinion. They're sure not safe anymore.I think their problems have just begun...
