It's about 10:15pm and I'm sitting out on the screened porch,My hubby has gone to bed.It is so peaceful and quiet, or at least is was.The bull frogs are croaking their love songs and I hear coyotes howling in the meadow.I was going to sleep out here tonight, but, the howling is kind of creeping me out. They are a little too close...I've seen them real close to the house,I hope they don't get our pet duck. She's made it for 4 yrs so far,I guess she knows to stay in the pond at night.I would never let my little dog out a lone at night. He only weighs 10 pounds...he would just be an appetizer for them.Actually,I love to hear them howling when I'm safe in my bed. It's just when I'm a lone out here...I'm a scardy cat.
I put up some July 4th decor today.I'm hoping to find some neat old patriotic stuff in town tomorrow.I love to go antiques shopping,or as my husbands calls it,Junking....Give me old stuff to fix up and paint and I'm in hog heaven!I'm a frustrated decorator.I need to decorate,I'm addicted to it...Give me old,old stuff.I've been like this since I was a kid.( a teenager)We were poor so I always fixed up and painted the furnished apts we lived in.My Mom loved it.The landlords were happy too. They always let me paint the old furniture and I sewed slipcovers for the ratty old sofas and chairs.Even when I grew older and could afford nicer things I still liked to take something ugly and turn it into something pretty. You don't need to spend big bucks to improve your home. All is takes is imagination.....I look thru decorating books and get a lot of ideas.....if anyone needs help,I'm here.I love country cottage at the time. But,I've done modern, traditional, and oriental styles...Go to the forums under"home decorating" I'll show you some of my rooms.....Later,Sandy

I scattered Foxglove seed 2 yrs ago in my shade garden, nothing had happened.Last evening I was weeding and found these huge, tall, plants growing.Hopefully,it's Foxglove.Could someone post a pic of theirs,I surely would appreciate it.I'm keeping my fingers crossed thats what it is.If it's a weed,it sure is pretty. It hasn't bloomed yet.Once(if) it does,I'll know it's Foxglove.I just can't wait till it does....Pics,please.....

This is bsmitch's picture. You can't see the plant because it is behind the beebalm.
Our little town is buzzing with the big news. It's so exciting,we have a Power Ball winner! The winning ticket was sold at the "HUB" Carry-out,just up the road from me ,in Sunbury. The lucky person won 260 million bucks...This is the most exciting thing we've ever experinced...no one knows who the winner is..Maybe I know him, this is a very small town.I would keep it a secret from the public if I were the winner, thats for sure....
Our barn is finally finished. The rain kept things off schedule. Now it's just grading the soil around the barn and planting grass seed(.Now watch the weather get dry when we need rain) It turned out really nice.My hubby is putting a small porch on it and green shutters. It will match the house.
Hope you all had a great Memorial Day week-end.Later,Sandy
