It's rained for days now, really poured. The barn isn't finished yet. The guys are coming tomorrow if it clears up.I want to get things cleaned up and start planting around the barn.I planted pots today( between the showers,) they look so pretty. The rain was much needed.Everything is so green now...
I'm still going to PT.Monday and Wednesdays. My ankle is doing a lot better. This has sure been a long ordeal.I still limp,I think it's a habit now...I've got to curb the habit....
We're having a big fish fry Friday night.Actually,my son in law is having it.We've all been busy setting up tables and getting the horseshoe pits ready.Kegs are coming, and everyone is bringing a side dish. It should be a fun evening...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain...
Take care and enjoy planting...don't over do it and strain your back.Been there ,done that..... Later,Sandy

The weather cooperated today for awhile, then it poured. The Amish men came and started our storage barn. It's only 24 X 32,but it will be large enough to store the tractor and Dave's other tools and stuff. Those guys worked thru the downpour.I sneaked in a few pics from the window.I think they'll finish up tomorrow if the weather holds out.Maybe they'll come anyway...
I went to PT today. My ankle is very sore after using the machines. The therapist really twisted my foot to loosen it up.It always hurts when I get back from there... I am walking better though, not limping quite as much.
My strawberry plants have blossoms and a few are getting little berries on them.I put bird netting over them yesterday. This is only the second season for them,I hope they produce a lot of fruit. This is my first attempt at growing strawberries.Anyone have any tips for me?
Anyone else's allergies bothering them?My sinisus are killing me.I know it's the pollen.I'm hoping todays rain will wash some of it away....
Well, the little grandkids have strep throat again. The just got over it a few weeks ago. This time the doctor put them on a different antibiotic, way more expensive than the last med....It's always something....I hate to see them all sick. They'll also miss their T-ball (4 yr old),baseball(7 year old) and softball(10 yr old) games. It's chilly and wet here,so I'm glad they won't be playing this week.I remember those days when my kids were in sports. The cold wet soccer games were the worst.I really dreaded them. The kids enjoyed them,me,not so much!
I still haven't gotten the annuals in pots yet.Matter of fact,I haven't even bought many yet.I was waiting for the temps to rise.Hopefully,I can work on them this coming week-end.Take care, and I'm looking forward to seeing all your wonderful garden pics. Later,Sandy
P.S. Maybe Bill will post my pics for me,I still can't put them on my blog.I can do the forums, just can't figure out posting on the blog....
Tomorrow, the Amish barn builders are coming at 7:00am.I just heard the weather and they are predicting storms and high winds tonight and tomorrow.Actually, all week we are getting rain.We need it badly, but not now.It seems every time we have any work to be done,it rains.I'll get pics if I can.The Amish won't permit photo's of their faces.I'll respect that and just get their backsides...he-he
We had a freeze last night,so I was up spraying my plants with the garden hose before sunrise. It saved them....I covered my strawberries and they still had little ice crystals on them. They look okay now though. The birdbath had frozen water in it too... night before last we had a heavy frost, then last night the freeze.I hope thats the last of the bad weather.I want to plant my impatiens and other annuals....
I still haven't finished my new garden, seating area.It seems I've been flitting from one thing to another.I also have to put teak oil on the wooden chairs on the deck.I did get around to painting the kids wooden tree swing seat. It's barn red.I hope the rope is still sturdy.I was going to try it out today but had second thoughts about parking my big booty on it....
I'll keep you all posted on the progress of the new barn.....Later,Sandy

Well, I've been busy making my new shade garden where the chicken coop used to be.I still need a few more plants and 3 white pines.I still have one area that needs the grass removed and edged (that's where the pines will go) and plant impatiens, and more ground cover and ferns. The soil is unbelievable...When it's all finished and plants are growing,I'll post the finished product.I'm so excited....My freak'n back is killing me....hehe,it's worth all the pain though.....
