We are finally back home in Ohio from Florida. This has been the longest we have ever been gone, three months. It was wonderful ,warm and sunny.I was getting so homesick though.I missed my kids and Grandkids so much.We arrived home on Easter Sunday,it took us 18 hours....
Hopefully, the weather warms up here.I see daffodills and daylilies popping up,thats a good sign. The birds are busy looking for nesting spots and I heard spring peepers down by the creek. The weather man is calling for the temps to rise into the 60's for the week end...We usually have 3 snows after the forsythia bloom. So far not blooming....Hope the old folk lore is wrong, don't need no stink'n snow.....
I have missed being with my friends on G.G. I hope you all are excited about planting your gardens.I know I am.
Happy Holidays to all of my friends on G.G. I know some of you are of different religions and beliefs,so I am wishing you all much joy and happiness and good health for the coming year.
I haven't been on here for awhile.I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.I have been sick with a sinus infection and bronchitis.Had to go to urgent care and then a few days later to the ER....I thought for sure I had pneumonia, luckly,I didn't.I can't remember when I have been so sick.Hopefully I can get my Christmas decorations up and my shopping started,I am way behind this year....
Does anyone know how to get the advertisments off at the bottom of the G.G. page?
Take care, hope you win the POWERBALL,good luck friends,Sandy

Thank you dear G.G. friends for voting for my photo.I didn't expect to win anything. All the entries photos were wonderful.Congrats to all the winners ...And again,Thank you G.G. Sandy
Well, its my favorite time of year! The Halloween party is on Saturday. My kids have their new barn built and its all decorated for the party Saturday night. They have 12 wooded acres and have paths cleared for the Haunted Hayride.I just hope and pray the rain holds off.It will be one big muddy mess if it rains. The house is still under construction and there isn't any grass yet.Last year there were around 200 people, this year they might be stuck in the mud.Keep your fingers crossed for us.... I'll post pics on Sunday. Hope you all have a safe and fun Halloween....
The past few days have been absolutely beautiful.I worked outside cutting back plants, transplanting, and dividing ornamental grasses. The grasses were so huge I dived them into multiple plants...My husband tried to cut them apart with a saw,but he couldn"t do it....So I divided them with a shovel.Man,was that hard work.I got about 15 new plants from them and planted them near the pond. Remember my beautiful flower bed by the pond? Well, since it's on the new neighbors property(used to be our kids home, but they sold it) Anyhow, the new folks tore it out and are plantinting grass over it....Boo hoo,I worked so hard on that garden.Well,it is on their property so they have the right to do it.I was just so sad seeing it demolished....The zen garden is on their property also, they let it go natural....looks terrible, just an overgrown mess....I'm making another Japanese garden in .one of my back shade gardens.I always thought our kids would be sharing the land with us,or I would have never put in so much work, time, and money into those gardens...I really like the new neighbors, but I guess it just seemed like too much work to keep the gardens going....I'll post pics of how the cottage garden and the japanese garden used to look......Well,it helped to to vent....I'm done crabbing about it....I'm sure you all know how I feel by now...hehehe I posted pics in the Forums...before and after

Hi Everyone,
I am finally catching up on all that I missed on GG...Its been a busy summer so I am anxious to get back to reading your blogs on here.I enjoy this site so much.....
I've been busy the past few days putting up my outside fall decor.Yesterday was very windy and blew some of my stuff away.I keep putting it back,it keeps blowing away...hehe
The leaves are just starting to change here in Ohio. They usually peak around the middle of October. Its always beautiful, especially when the skies are clear and blue.
I told you all about my kids selling their property and building a new home.I was worried over who our new neighbors would be.Well, they are a wonderful young family and I really like them.I miss my kids tho and miss tending the Japanese garden .
Dave and I went to Gettysburg and then on 9-11 went to the Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville,Pa...We just missed vice president,Biden. It was a very somber day to say the least. The memorial is so beautiful....
Oh,our daughter and son in law will be having their 7th,annual halloween party this year at their new property. The barn is finished and has electric, water and a bathroom. I'll post pics. Its always so much fun.Last year over 200 people attended. This is my favorite time of year,I've already started making my costume.... We start decorating the barn and getting the paths thru the woods cleared for the hayride the week before Halloween. Its a lot of work, but totally worth seeing all the happy kids(and adults) having fun.The whole town looks forward to the party.Everyone brings a side dish and we supply the drinks and desserts. There is always a costume contest, bonfire, hayride thru the haunted forest, music and dancing. .. all are welcome that can come.If you live near, message me and I'll send the address....love to have you GG friends.....
I haven't been here for quite awhile. We have been so busy with helping our kids move, gardening and camping. We just returned from Mackinaw Island in Michigan. We camped at Millcreek Campground in Mackinaw City.We met up with friends we made while in the Keys last winter.Dave and I are hoping to visit friends I met on here next spring or fall. You lucky people know who you are....hehe,I am probably frightening you.Look out,Pete,Carolynn,Reba ,Mitzilou, and Bill.Let me know of any good campgrounds near you. Good to catch up on G.G. news, have fun gardening and stay safe thru the storms. Later,Sandy

I haven't been on here for awhile. We have been so busy helping our daughter and family get ready to move. The closing was on Friday,so the rest of next week will be very busy. You probably remember my past blogs and how sad we are that they will be leaving.I understand tho and want whats best for them.My SIL is a builder and builds a home and lives there for a few years and then sells it for a good profit....They bought 12 wooded acres only 5 miles from us,so the kids will be in the same schools....We will just miss having them here on the same property.Unfortunetly, the Japanese garden and pond was on their property....I will not be caring for them anymore, unless the new owners want me too...It will all be so different....Well,enough of my whinning and crying. Its time to get over it....They could be moving hundreds of miles away.....Its just going to be lonely without them right across the pond.I am so happy the new owners have kids.I love to hear the sound of childrens laughter...I'm sure they will love the pond as much as our grandkids did....Our SIL wants to build us a small home on their new propertry, but I don't want to leave this house.I've put so much time and labor into the gardens here and their new property is all wooded.I need sunshine and room to garden.....Hope you are all well and enjoying your lovely gardens.I'll have more time to spend with my fellow gardeners here on G.G. Take care,I've enjoyed catching up on all the news here too.I've missed you all......Sandy
This is the most beautiful spring I can remember.Everything is blooming much sooner than normal.I don't know if thats good or bad. Some of my plants are blooming now that usually don't bloom until May.....I have been able to work in my gardens a lot earlier this year.
I know everyone on G.G. is probably itching to plant annuals. At least in the northern climates.I'm having all I can do not too.Its going to be hard to wait till may 15th....
Remember I told you that my daughter and family live on the property with us.Well,my heart is broken. They are going to build a new home(only 5 miles from here) and sell this home.My son in law is a builder and is itching to build a new place. They bought 12 acres of wooded property. It will seem strange to look out my windows and see strangers in their house.I will miss them all so much.......I'll post pics of their home and ours.We have 3 acres and they have 4 and a pond.....Its so pretty. I guess I should be happy they are moving close by.Damn,I'm still sad..... I'll post pics in the Forums under family.....
Well.its almost spring,I can tell because I threw my back out . I was cutting down ornamental grasses(giant reed grass) and hauling it to the burn pile....I do it every year. Will I ever learn,I don't think so.....My Japanese garden has a huge area of the grass, and I didn't cut it back in the fall like I should have.Of course I haven't done anything but sit on my tail all winter, then decide to work for hours bending and lifting....I've been in misery for about a week now.I have spring fever and can't wait to get back outside.I'm going to do stretches and warm up the next time(sure I will)Anyways now you know why I haven't been on G.G. lately,I couldn't sit at the computer..... Later, I need to soak in the tub.Hot water really helps .....
