Spring is coming !!

I live in Maine and will not be able to plant much until the end May sometime around there and maybe later with all the snow we have this year 130+ inches. I decided with some pushing from my husband to start alot in my sunroom. I fighured that I could have my tomatoe just about ready to have fruit if I started them now. Then start a new group in April just to put in the ground in May. This to insure that I get two crops this year. Has any one used the upside down bags or buckets? The cheepest I have seen the bags is $20.00 for three. That did include that jelly stuff to grow it in. We are getting alot of melting with our temps almost 50 today and I saw the first Robins....I have never seen them winter over ,but my mom says that on the coast of Maine they sometime do. That means they go from worm eaters to seed eaters!! I wonder if thats true!!
