In my last post I spoke of planting a fall garden. I still have plans to do so but I have been working in Magee Mississippi and did not get a chance to till my ground before I left. I return home Tuesday and I hope to get my ground tilled and possibly planted before I leave again. The only dirt I have been playing in is here in Magee and it is very RED. I have some pictures to share with every one of my job site here in Magee and of the Cajun Hibiscus that is blooming in our yard, my pecans and one of a split Satsuma. The Satsuma peal split around the middle. The only thing I think could have caused this is that they grew too quickly with all the rain we have been having.
There are a few more pictures in my picture folder labeled Fall Winter Miss Hub 2009. I hope all is well at your house. Pete

I hope everyone is doing well and that you’re getting yourself ready for the fall! I really hate to say goodbye to the summer! I love to go out to the beach and watch the waves come ashore and just enjoy the good ole sunshine. If I did not have too many irons in the fire I would fly back to Jamaica for another week of lying in the sun and being pampered by the staff at the resort.
Well at the end of last month we got Caleb moved into his apartment at LSUE. Purchased all the “things” he had to have such as a computer, printer, TV etc. so far he is doing well and tells us he actually enjoys his classes. He made a “C” on his first essay in his English class. He was disappointed but then he tells us that he had the highest grade on the essay! He has some good room mates who like to hit the books as well as work out and play sports so that helps to keep him going. It has been bitter sweet at home with him gone. Some afternoons I still catch myself looking for him to turn into the driveway. Below are a few pictures of him and his apartment.
Bobby Jindal the Governor of the Great State of Louisiana has been visiting Churches all across the State on Sundays where he is telling his testimony of how he came to Christ. He has been taking flak in the news because of it. Funny thing is you never hear anything about elected officials traveling to football games or other sporting events but let them visit a Church and they get crucified for it. Well this past Sunday we were blessed to have him visit our Church. I have included a picture of me shaking hands with him. This country would do well to have him serve as our President one day!
The Humming Birds are visiting my yard too! We have two feeders up and could use another one. I have also taken a few pictures of them to share with all of you along with some of the flowers in bloom around my yard.
It won’t be long and I will try to plant my fall/winter garden. It will be a first for me as I have never planted a fall/winter garden before.
Hope you all enjoy the pictures and that you had a great Labor Day. There are more pictures in my folders under Governor and in the 2009 picture folder. Have a great one. Pete
