I just posted about 30 more pictures of our trip to Jamaica in my photo albums under Jamaica pictures. Go check them out if you are interested and let me know what you think.
Hope you all have been beating the heat. It finally rained a little at my house. The grass was dying all over my yard. Been running the water bill up trying to keep the flowers alive. I all but gave up on my veg garden. The weeds have taken over....I should have a water melon or two ready soon and that is good news. Pete
Bill this is the link to the Bayou Gardner I was telling you about when you were down. He lives somewhere near Reba from what I understand. I have picked up a few tips from him. He has many videos of his garden, and many how to videos. One thing about him he makes sure he has plenty of room inbetween his rows so that he can drive his golf buggy inbetween them.
For those interested I just posted a few more pics in my jamaica pic folder. Slow but sure I will get some in there. Enjoy and let me know what you think. Pete
Hey everyone I am still around! LOL. We have just been real busy the last month or so. Caleb graduated from High School, and received the Topps award plus a small scholarship in memory of one of his classmates who was killed in an automobile accident. He also received an award from the District Attorney’s office for citizenship. Now he has been waiting to hear if any College would like to have him on their baseball team. He also is now playing baseball in the American Legion League. So we are still going to games.
My vegetable garden is about finished. I still have cucumbers and watermelons growing. But the tomatoes are on their last leg. I picked 4 buckets of tomatoes yesterday. My mother in law picked tomatoes 2 times while we were gone on our trip to Jamaica and put them up for us. She also put up two gallons of chopped bell peppers and a few gallons of hot peppers and sweet peppers. I broke 44 ears of corn before we left on our trip and my mother in law broke another 40 ears while we were gone. Yesterday I broke another 6 to cook for supper. The grass has taken over. My plants seem to be dwarfed this year. I changed fertilizer to from triple 13 to 17-17-17 but I will go back to triple 13 next year.
Our trip to Jamaica was great. Normally we are ready to come home after being gone a week but this was not the case. We both could have stayed another week. I have posted a few pictures below and there are more in my pictures under Jamaica. I will try to add a few more later.
Also I hear there is a GG group meeting coming up this Saturday in Westlake, Louisiana. I have to work days and do not get off until 5PM. I will see if my relief can come in a little early for me on Saturday so I can meet those of you who are still hanging around. I hope you all enjoy the pics. Pete
