I took a bunch of herbs to my boyfriend's brothers house. His brother has 3 girls. One of them became very interested in the bag of herbs I brought. She smelled each one and wanted to know what it was and how to use it. She really like the thyme and wanted to put a bunch in her bedroom.

One day a friend brought her 7 year old granddaugter over and we were out back with the herbs and I started showing her each herb. I picked a leaf of and had her smell it. The first one I gave her was mint, she said it smelled like Nonna's gum. She too, was very interested in each one and how good they smelled and how to cook with them.

I live in a condo and have a small garden which goes around 2 sides of my patio. I also have a raised bed container where I have all my herbs growing. This year was bad for Japanese beetles, they seem to love eating my basil and mint. I ended up having to coverup the basil with a light blanket I found at gardeners.com. I have a rabbit too, he likes the beets I had growing around the patio. I covered up the beets too.
