The first thing is to examine the seeds you are going to plant.Make sure they are hard and the proper color and if not discard them.Next you work on the garden bed.It can be a raised bed but that isn't required. Then fill it with organic compost from leaves to manure. After that you plant the seeds 1-11/2 inches deep. Then water well and watch your sprouts zoom up to a extreme vegetable hieght.
Most hybrid is open pollinated.

We don't grow corn because one of our neighbours is a master at it. He plants several different varieties for different tastes and to span as much of our short growing season as possible. He sells hundreds of dozens of it at his 'honour system' roadside stand. People come from hundreds of miles away to buy from him. When the sun goes down, he gathers up all the unsold ears and gives them to us to feed to our critters. His customers can be assured that none of the corn they buy from him is more than 12 hours old.
