Good morning,
It is very hot here in AR. our little peace of heaven. I have been enjoying my grandchildren. They came up to swim in our pool. It is very nice to have a cool place to escape to in the heat. We just got it set up last week. I am going to need some ideas to help me figure out what to do around the sides of it for now...once we get it all cleaned up! They did alot of digging and we have alot of dirt and rocks to get cleaned up. I was thinking of just a edgeing around it and then the little white rocks or mulch with some flowers every so often. Because eventually we will build a deck all the way around it. I want it to be pretty now tho, and not just grass.
I went on a trip to visit my mom and sister and other family in Okla. and it was very hot and humid there also...I took pictures of some of my sisters flowers on her back patio. She is doing real well with her flowers this year, I got her started a few years ago, and she is really enjoying it. I am so glad...
Well, I have already watered this morning and done alittle weeding, but, will do more this eve if it ever cools off some...and the mosquitoes are killing me just before dark...gotta remember to spray myself with off first...
I am having a cup of coffee and my two dogs are laying beside me while I type this Blog entry..they don't care for the heat either...Star Light, and Moon Shine, those are our doggies...
I am wondering by the way about my Flowering Crabapple Tree...it was so pretty when I left for Okla. and when I got back it was the first thing I noticed when I drove in, all the leaves have been eaten off it! Can you tell me anyone what might have been the bug or insect that did that? That has never happened before and I planted it about 5 years ago...my first tree I planted after we built here on our land...
And I bought a bouganvillia in Okla. And I was wondering what I should do to it when fall and winter comes? I will have to take it in but, I don't know if I can just trim it back and put it in our storage building and cover it well with mulch or what? Welcome some help here...
Happy Gardening....

Well, it was another hot and humid day. Didn't stop me tho, I finished staining my front porch floor and that was the last of the decks and rails..I am so glad that job is done..then I did some weeding in my front flower bed. Fighting that crab grass, and it rained last night and early this morn so, it was so much easier to pull out. Then I set on my front porch with the fans on and drank some ice water and watch the world go by for awhile and then I moved things around on my front porch and replanted some flowers and finally got it the way I want it, I think. I then started painting my front door and new full view storm door green like our roof and I plan to paint the back door, the upstairs french doors to balcony and side door off dining room, where one day my sunroom will be...off of the dining room door that is....they will all be green. That is my favorite color by the way..lol, can ya tell...? Well, tomorrow is another day. Happy Gardening...

Well, it was a good day for gardening. We are still working on odd jobs on our house and we were staining and framing our windows out when the first rain storm come up and got us wet and then cleared off and got hot and humid again and I did some weeding in my front flower bed and did some watering of flowers on front porch cause it is covered and on porch of storage shed. Then it clouded up again this eve and rained hard again..and it cooled off and it is still humid tho, and 80 degrees at 11:30 pm. Well, I will probably be mowing tomorrow..
Can anyone tell me why my wisterria isn't blooming? This is my second year for it, it was doing good and then we had that late frost and it killed it back and now it is coming out good again, but, never bloomed. Help please...would appreciate it....

Hey I have a plant that vines and I got the seeds from a friend, I can't find the name of it from anyone I know. I will have to take a picture of it and see if anyone can help me with it. I would appreciate it alot. It is a fast grower like morning glory, but, it has purple little flowers and they smell sweet and the seed or bean I call it is as big as a pinto bean and it gets these bean pods on them and they are deep purple too. Please help if you can. Thanks.
