Beautiful bright sunny day today first up going to cut the grass with all the rain we had its really greened up and needs a hair cut. After that will work on the beds want to move and split a few things going to plant a pansey basket for the back door. I finally bought 2 of the hydragea endless summer shrubs i have been wanting these since they came out and they will replace the spirea at the back border of the rock garden. need to find a home for the service berry out front site is to shady and they get lost up against the fence the foliage is just too dark. so much to do so little time :-)

Off I go to the shed to plant up my last flats of seeds I love being able to do all of my dirty work in the shed and I find I like working in the natural light so much easier with some of the very fine seeds to see what I am doing and no mess in my kitchen. Its rained here for the past 2 days grass is greening up and trees are budding lots happening this is what I wait all winter for ! I am also going to work on some of my garden beds going to split a few perennials and move a few things and after all the rain its the best time for me to do so. I may take a few pictures see whats out there today right now its a very dull gray day but the temp. is warm.

Tag: Just a bit about where I am right now!
Potted up my planters with a bit of spring yesterday. Panseys are plentyful even the grocery stores are selling them in fact thats where I picked up my flat at work. Its nice to see some colour in them. As I walk around the garden I notice much is happening most of my perennials are up at least 3-4" even my Blue bells (a favorite) are sending up shoots, but along with the good comes the bad as some of the weeds seem to be flourishing as well. Today was a bit cooler compared to the weekend but by Friday it should be warmer and I hope to turn over some of the beds and get after the weeds I saw. We had a good rain today which I did not mind since its good for the garden and ...... beats the heck out of SNOW!!! Daffodils are blooming and tulips are not far behind . I was planning to start a few more flats of seeds my 6-8 week seeds as they should be ready to plant out at the end of May but I have spent to much time playing in here. oh well...... tommorrow . I better go make lunches.

I am new to blogging so I hope I am doing this right.I like the idea of using this as a way of recording whats happening in my garden . So here goes...
I have started 9 flats of seeds, I am a bit late this year I like to get them going in early March. I have Petunias cascade mix ,orchid mist ,and red perouette,I grew these last year and loved them. I also have started snaps ,zinnas, stocks lobelia, annual scabiosa dark blue & rose salmon.and marigolds for my veggie garden.
New seeds I am trying this year area a perennial, Agastache, blue compact I am thinking this will be good in the rock garden we will see..... I also have a new morning glory mini bar rose, dwarf with ivy like leaves which are variegated white and green they might be nice in baskets, some highly scented heirloom sweet peas, a nasturtium with a darker leaf and compact growing habit and a cucumber, sultan, sweet ,crisp ,and can be pick when just a few inches long I have collected some seeds from a few interesting and tasty mini tomotes so I will try these as well
This is the first season for me to use my new potting shed it is great doing up my flats in there so much easier in the natural light to see some of the very fine seeds when planting and no mess inside the house thats a good thing too!! ( I do love my shed , Thank You Sweetie) Its going to be perfect for harding off my plants when the time comes. Weather here has been cold and Easter was snowy so not much happening yet I am glad I was off when we had that warm spell in March , the garden is cleaned up and ready to go .
