I am frequently accused of talking a lot, so I'll keep a synopsis of my life short! Grew up on eastern LI, which is nothing like most people assume. A well kept quiet secret, though now that is changing. We lived off the beaten path wilh scary woods behind us, a cranberry bog across the street with miles of trails. Nice place to grow up. Grew up always wanting to be a veterinarian, and after a few years of banging my head against Cornell's door, finally moved to Oklahoma where I entered vet school. What a trip it's been! I could never think of anything else I'd rather be! During the years between college and vet school, I enjoyed my other passion, horseback riding. I am actually a dressage rider, but my current horse has some mental issues, so it is slow going. Between his lamenesses and my back issues, we do not get consistent training. Maybe THIS year! I am anticipating the purchase of the practice where I have been working for the past 8 years, so this will be a new chapter in my career. I met my husband on a blind date 5 years ago and we have been inseparable since. We both garden - though he is mostly the lawn and veggies. We both built our front yard garden which is a rock walkway surrounded by mini-gardens. He builds me raised beds to help my back and to keep the dog(s) from trampling/peeing on them. Right now I have only one dog, a shepherd, who also has mental issues, but is loving and loyal. Four cats, the newest addition being 3-legged. Was supposed to put him down because of a serious injury to a front leg at the tender age of 1 week and I just couldn't do it. He runs around now like there's nothing wrong. Pogo, aptly! I spend too much time at work and not enough time enjoying the labors of our work on our house and yards, but I do try. I am truly glad I have found GG to help with my planning decisions and problems. Much like dressage, it is a lifelong learning endeavor which I never tire of!
Not quite short, but that about brings me up to date!
