Well I am in Upper New York near the Canadian border. Heard it was 17 below this morning. Its 3 degrees out there now. I'm here with the people I work for. Their oldest son is getting married tomorrow. It was a 5 hour ride 21 of us and we came in 4 vehicles. We arrived at the church early this evening, only for me to have a bad moment and have to leave. Thankfully I was given a car and came back to the hotel. I hope I make it thru the wedding tomorrow night. I knew I should have stayed home. This wasn't a good thing at this time. I do have plans tomorrow to shop. I am fortunate enough to be given a car to try and find a mall in this area. I heard it is like 20-30 minutes from here. Walmart is only 5 minutes down the road. And a Tractor Supply. LOL
Well life as been hectic for me. Alot of drama, but at least I have a few friends that help get me thru it. My grand daughter will be 4 this tuesday. My son gets her every weekend. It is my turn this weekend (since he lives with me and wants to have a little fun himself) A friend and her daughter took us to see the Christmas lights. There is a yearly display thats like 12 blocks long, shops in the area sponsor it and its slow moving traffic, but kids love to look. Santa is there sponsored by Weis potatoe chips and Santa gives away small bags of chips. Great snack as we ride along. There are alot of large victorian homes and some are decorated so pretty. It is a great time. Especially for the kids. When I was small it was more animation and on both sides of the boulavard. But its still fun and kids love it.
Tonight after we finish decorating the christmas tree we are going to an outdoor live Nativity. 4 of the children, for the people I work for are in the play. 3 are angels and one (11 year old) is the girl that dies and God brings her back to life. (at least thats what she told me and she is excited) The play varies every year slightly but not far from the real story. They have to do something to get hte crowd to come back again. They have live camels, and other animals. The costumes and props are so authentic. This play is put on every year, and the public response is enormous. It is a free performance, you sit on bleachers and freeze unless you remember blankets. Which I never forget. Grand D will be wearing her snowsuit. The church has a huge screen for those that cant participate out doors. There are 5 shows, and heard last year there were more than 5000 at one, and they had to turn people away there was no more standing or sitting room.
We still have a ground covering of snow. Last week we made snow angels. It was too powdery to make a snowman. I went and bought Cady a new sled, but by the time we got home there wasn't really much snow to sleigh ride. What we do have is frozen. The temps have been below freezing all week.
Well ya'll I have to feed Cady breakfast, get some cleaning done, work on that tree, shower, you get the picture. Keep warm and have a great day.
