June is when the fig tree has the first crop. We love fresh figs and those June ones are the greatest.
Also, update on the parsely. It's going to be a fair amount in the limited zone it was given. The heat came early this year and the garden has been thirsty. More pics to come.

Missed the few first days of June. Work..work...work GGggggrrrrrrrrr!
It rained (thunderstorm) the whole shebang last night and the tomatoes, basil, parsely must have grown inches. Rain has this growth giving ability. It is fun to see all these new life expending. For us in Virginia it's the first call of summer moving in. The dogs came back from our walk with ticks (me too). The air is getting heavy with the tropical moisture. Figs are close to eating time.

Voila, good news the parsely has started to show some green!
This is great because I am having a basil explosion in addition to the tomatoes displaying blooms. I am extatic! This moning I repoted my orange tree (grown from seed). That tree has been in the family for over twenty five years and so far not a bloom. It has a lot of caracter and thats the only thing that ehlp it stay in the family. Planted some ginger too. The poppies are still giving a show.

Here it is May 5, 2008 the first poppy is open. Poppies are a favorite in the garden and a memory of long ago of poppies and bachelor buttons in wheat fields announcing the soon summer holidays.

Poppies are budding. Roses are in bloom. Sage is also bloomming with a bunch of iris and the pink geraniums are starting to give a show, Spring is such an easy time for flowers I wish the grass would not be so eager to grow (mow, mow, mow).

Well it's plants that are ours to love.
Being an old treeman turned gardener I have been in the dirt most of my life. Since I killed many trees I guees I am trying to make right by planting.
Yes, I used to cut trees for money... In a way that is good because it was a school for me. I learned to know trees and life with trees. I enjoy sents, colors and feel of a tree (so, I became a fanatic!)...
Flowers are my second love when it comes to botany. My preference is the English country garden. I am stilll trying to figure out what is a weed. An old gardener told me that a weed is too much of the same.
Ok. Thanks for the welcome :) it's nice here.
The reason I found this site is because I wanted to find out if some of you had experienced growing parsley i shade. The result is quite positive and since I have a few seeds they will end up in the only spot I can find. Over the years sunny area of my garden have turned less sunny with all the trees around. Still I like to use parsley in cooking so got to have fresh stuff. Thanks again for the positive in here.
