Here comes the sun ! If you live in Ohio you probably know that its been raining since Sunday evening . I was beginning to think that perhaps I should start building an ark :)  I just realized looking outside that it seems to have really brightened the greens up !  I wish it was dry enough to work outside but I guess I better tend to some inside stuff seeings how I have been slacking some this week..lazy week since my plans where side-tracked..next week hopefully will be a new story. I can't wait until I can set some of my house plants outside on my porch..this seems to always freshen them up and they seem to grow like crazy ..I guess we are not the only ones that like getting outside after winter. All my plants are doing great except for one and I'm not even sure what it is...maybe I will take a picture today and put it up to see if any of you know what it is..but be kind..this little guy is not looking his best..I don't know what his problem is ?

Hope you all are having a super day and enjoy every moment of it ! Call someone you love today and tell them just that ...we can't take one moment for granite !

Hi all , today it is raining once again. I would not normally complain but its starting to get old. I really was hoping to get outside this week. I'm really in need of some good old fashioned dirt digging. I am excited about working on my landscaping and putting in my garden. I have been thinking about canning a lot and want to come up with some new recipes ! I come from a southern family so I am seeing a lot of pickled stuff in the future ! A lot of people have never heard of it but we love pickled corn, its yummy if you like that kind of thing. Something else I am really looking forward to is cleaning out my daughters play house. They have a nice play house that is a good size and of course since they are teenagers they don't use it anymore..well I am hoping to turn it into my own little cottage get away to use for my art glass and for re-potting , reading and more ! I think it would be a great place with a little work and some great garage sale and fleamarket finds ! Do any of you have your own little get away place. I love reading but I am a fussy reader..I am the only person I know that can go into a bookstore and walk out with nothing. I really have trouble picking out books. I love reading non-fiction  and tend to go in phases . I went through my slavery phase, holocaust, amish,civil war, and now I am into my uplifting phase. Have any of you read The Shack. I LOVE THAT BOOK ! I NEVER read a book twice, but I think I am going to read it again, its that good ! Today I found an author by the name of Athol Dickson so I am going to give him a try. I don't like romance books (though I read a few of the Amish ones that were not bad) , or scary books. I don't like that scary stuff inside my head. I know it sounds strange but if I'm going to read I like it to be something that I can learn from..my imagination keeps me plenty busy enough..lol..  I also love collector/antique books and guides, ancestry books and decorating magazines. What are some of your favorite reads. I love having a little guidance to a good read. Well, enough for today ..I'm off to get a few things done and then I think tonight I will curl up and get  a little reading done ! God Bless you wherever you are, I hope your day is blessed.

Hi, welcome to my first blog entry ! I have decided to try this as kind of a therapy for myself. I recently loss my mother and best friend so I am just searching for things to keep my mind busy, so bear with me as some of these entries may seem crazy. But I am going to try and keep them positive. I will do my best...so on that note..

I can't wait to get outside and start of my garden. Tomorrow I am planting my potatoes, they will be a little late but better late than never. We have lived here many years and I have never gotten around to doing any landscaping around are home as we have so much yard to contend with that its all we can do to keep it mowed. So'ooo this year I am finally doing it. I decided to just keep it real and do what I like and not what I think others would like. I think I want to do it kind of old school and not so formal . I have a dinner bell at the end of our porch and I want to play that up a little bit. Hubby just got me a mantis so that will help me tons ! I think I will take some before and after pics and share with you all. Could be interesting !  Well, until the next entry..enjoy life and spend all the time you can with your loved ones..you would be suprised at the little things you can just let go, that really are not that important...let some things roll and don't sweat the small stuff !
