Signs of Spring are everywhere! I know the temps are just a tease, but it has been in the high 70's! I have bulbs popping up everywhere. This is my most fun time...seeing all the little babies peeking their heads up from the dirt. Some of them I don't remember. Oh well, I love a surprise. The small piece of miniature gardenia that I rooted from my mom's old house went crazy over the winter. It's twice as big!
And the hydrangea twigs that I rooted in pots...and thought they had not survived... have little buds and sprouts on them! Yaahh! Success!! A friend gave me some cuttings from her Snowball Hydrangea and I just plopped them in water a couple of weeks ago. I do believe I have seen a couple of roots on them. I've never rooted them in water before so I hope it works.
I hope all of you are loving the beginnings of Spring too. At least here in the south, it's going to be a beautiful weekend. So..... Ya'll have a great weekend....and Get in that dirt!! Trish
Hi GGers! I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to check in. I have had my 2 youngest grandbabies this week while their parents are on a mission trip to Haiti. Buuutt....my mind is starting to turn toward Spring. I've been pondering about what to do in the garden this year. The fall broccoli that I grew was heavenly!! It makes store bought taste like something plastic and foreign. I'll probably plant some more. I rooted some hydrangeas last year. I so hope they made it through the winter. Time will tell. I think I want to plant some fruit trees. I don't want to put much work into them, but I would like to watch them grow. Is that possible?...the not much work thing?
And I have decided to do raised beds this year. I think the plants will do better. It will be a little less bending for me, and I just like the way they look! Well I'm excited. Half the fun is looking forward to Spring and planning. Ya'll have a great day! And get in that dirt!!! (even if it does have to be inside) Trish
