Well, yet another garden surprise. When we bought this place several years ago we noticed that 3/4 of it was outlined in liriope that borders the woods. I don't particularly care for that "look" but it actually is very pretty with the lawn growing right up to the liriope. On the wooded side there are forsythia bushes almost all the way around. It is truly lovely in the spring when they bloom.
Well the other day I went out to stroll the yard and thought my eyes were deceiving me. I thought they were blooming. No, they weren't blooming, but the foliage has turned this gorgeous color of yellow that looks nearly the same as when they bloom! It is beautiful! I have not noticed that in the past few years, but I think it's b/c the bushes have not been very mature. They are larger now but still wispy enough to look like yellow feathers waving at me from 3 sides of the property. I like forsythias but I wouldn't exactly call them a favorite, but this just goes to show that God can delight you with even the not so special things in your life. Only He can turn the ordinary into the WOW! Ya'll have a great day!....and get in that dirt! Trish
Browsing the photo gallery on GG forums is one of my favorite pastimes. There are some awesome pictures on there. Our own "national geographic". If you haven't taken the time to do so, you should check it out. Each picture that I saw, I found myself wanting to ask something about it or wanting to see more. I still say it would be so much fun to have a little GG convention somewhere. We could all meet, bring pictures, have good food, etc. etc. What fun it would be to meet face to face! Well, maybe that's just a dream of mine but I think it's a good one. But all that to say, thanks to all of you for sharing your cool photos and bringing some joy to the world! Have a great day! Trish

Here I am again, celebrating Saturday. I'm thinking about buying more bulbs today and getting them planted. It's supposed to be a beautiful day.A few days ago I pulled up my dead coleus and basil that the cold got last week, so that chore is done. I need a good book to read. I'm thinking about going to Barnes and Nobles to browse. And chili sounds good for dinner. I'm thinking about making a pot...but I wanted to go pick some of my collards for dinner too. I must decide which to have. I'm thinking. I'm thinking I need to swiffer the floors. Ugh! Let's stop that line of thinking and go back to the bulbs. Yeah, I think bulbs, books, and chili... a great Saturday agenda! Ya'll have a great day! ...and get in that dirt! Trish
