more snow!! with a small snow storm of 6 inches.Coming down very heavy here at 6:30 am, but is clearing out pretty fast,so by daylight it'll be just about over. The guys completely finished the staircase on sunday, and daughter and I managed to get the outside walls of it primed yesterday. The inside walls of it going up the staircase will prove to be a bit more challenging. I gave her,her first lesson on mudding sheetrock,if its dry today it'll get its 2nd coat. I'm ready to pick up the 2nd color for Landons room today, after the roads have cleared. Every other day for the next week mother nature is catching up on us, and going to give us something to fall from the sky, rain or snow or a mix. The snowplows are busy now for sure, and my garden beds are finally covered over.

frozen tundra and keeping busy again-just at a slower pace. Had Landon overnite, thank god he's still sleeping. I love the morning hours to collect my thoughts, read and write. This past week, my bathroom wall got framed up,now I have a good size area for building another much needed closet and cabinets. I still have curtains hung there, but it won't be long before they are replaced with the wood shiplap. The frozen tundra outside has 5 inches on the ground finally, and its -11*. Winters finally here. That wasn't much of a snowstorm by Maine standards, but we'll take it.Since we're 1/2 way thru Jan.,we're not going to have much of a winter this year and the crops won't do as well. The driveways all cleared, and no additional snowfall in sight for now. Back to the kids place this morning, daughter and I will start the 2nd color on her bedroom walls, and the guys will finish building the staircase walls, and we'll have sunday dinner with them.

, some snow.. that packed a punch. I am now on the mend, after sucumbing to the flu,not once but twice. I think I had just enough time in between to make progress on the bedrooms, then wham! But all is better now with some penicillin.Swollen gland and strep throat on top of the flu is not my idea of fun. 2 & 1/2 weeks of couch time,I can never get back. Oh,well, its done and over. oh,ya and the cost of the ER visit to be paid off slowly. Why is it I always need a doc/medicine on the weekends when of course the regular doc is off on weekends, why is that? Sometimes life is just not funny at all. We had a good xmas, that week being flu free for me,a nice xmas dinner shared with the kids, this year consisting of steaks for the choice meal, and tons of other good stuff to go with it. Landon of course, the happy recipient of a loaded xmas tree again. He's not a fast unwrapper, which is fine with me,long as I have a coffee cup in my hands, and a camera. He also doesnt get up early, which is great, and gave us plenty of time to get there and knock off a pot of coffee before the festivities began. He loves his presents thank god,and him and I have been enjoying putting his puzzles together. We've decided after packing them back in the box, that some of them were so nice that we would buy some of that puzzle glue and picture frame them for his new bedroom. So we'll get some more puzzle time together. His bedroom is coming out fabulous. All of the bottom walls are done in the Army Green. The chair rail is black, and has a nice little shelf all the way around,so he can line up all his army men if he chooses to. An application of a chalkboard will be going on the top soon. J will frame it to look nice. Hubby is also in the middle of constructing the stairwell walls. Just counter height-36",all the way around for safety-as the wrought iron railing that was there was flimsy & very unsafe. The rugged framing is all done, this weekend-the OSB. Then us ladies can fill holes, paint it,and make it look nice. The daughters bedroom is 1/2 done also. We can pick the next color of paint anytime now. I told her it would take us the winter to do the 2 bedrooms, because there's so much to do,but we are ahead of schedule. When we picked up the lumber for her stairwell,we also picked up the lumber for my bathroom wall, and the fridge wall.It sure would be nice if we could start my bathroom wall today. A snowstorm is about to land. We're in for a Nor'Easter today, suppose to snow all day into tomorrow morning. Right now our ground is bare.Thats unheard of for Maine at this time of year. Our temps keep going up and down, and I just know my blueberries aren't going to have a good season this year. They havent had enough cold temps for a good crop. After the snowfall, then the freezing rain will descend upon us on Friday their saying. We went to the grocery store last night just in case we're stranded inside for a couple days. Will load up the wood box this morning-that holds enough for 3 days.Plenty enough coal for the season for the cellar furnace, which is running great and glad we bought it. Also we all lov that woodstove in the living room, which throws off some serious heat and glad we got that. The cat also loves it,he's always laying around like a beached whale in the middle of the floor. Its almost his time to get fixed, everybody who sees him now, can't believe how much he's grown,no longer the 2.5 lbs. of kitty furrball. He hasn't climbed quite high enough and reached my stuffed frog in the "Y" of the hemlock post, but it wont be long now till he can get it down. One of these days he'll hook it with his nails for sure. Ok, the snow has reached Maine and a thin layer on the roads has formed, time for some oatmeal and the weather news...
