blue cars.. but its pretty much all settling down now. We ended up getting that 2nd hand car,its 4 1/2yrs old-still in the "new stage,"so still have some miles that are warrantied from the manufacturer. Its in very good condition,a Hyundai, and unlike my old Hyundai, this one has an air conditioner. Just a few minor updates, but its pretty much the same thing. This time its the sky color of a beautiful summers day. I need to pick up some carpet mats this week, and seat covers. Well, that pretty much killed our weekend getting the car thing all situated.I packed up a load of turkey to the daughters and some of the rest of the stuff from dinner, and hubby finished getting all the meat off the turkey for me. I made a yummy turkey stew, and still have a large bowl for turkey pot pie to do this week.Hubby said he never saw that much meat on a turkey before.I think its because we never had a 20 pounder before.lol. My 1st pumpkin pie was a total flop, but the 2nd one came out just right.Go figure. I have plenty of pumpkin & crust on hand to whip out some more, practice makes perfect. Rain is suppose to roll in tuesday night,so that should melt the last 4 inches of the snowstorm. Since hubby needed to update his power tools, he got them early for xmas, and I got a car,so xmas will be small this year, including the tree. Since the cat wont leave anything alone,I can only have a very small one up on the one shelf he can't get to. Well, thats one step better than just a picture of a tree. I'll have to venture out this week to a store,so I can begin Landons xmas presents, and hope its not too crazy out there.

on garden guides. I hope all families are safe & able to enjoy their family-friends-and food together. Right now we're getting pounded with a northeast snowstorm, this time a doozy, and not a trick. Upwards of a foot, and where we live we're right in the center of it. Let the season begin! This is the weather we used to have back in the early 70's. I'll do a little bit of cooking today, then venture outside to see what else I can put away. There was definitely a chilliness in the air later afternoon, and when I come inside, the stove is going and feels so warm and toasty. I've found a car that I like, and we'll go for a test drive on Friday. I think we decided we'll get slightly more for the old Honda if we junk it out instead of a down payment as its not worth much anyways. Just put new tires on it 3 weeks ago too. My new stove Ash Vac arrived early, this year we'll need it with 3 stoves now. I finally sold the Oak Hoosier, now have the 2nd one to do,soon as I get the latch ordered. What an industrious, most of the time fun-filled packed year its been for us. If you get tired just reading about our goings on, believe me it makes my head spin sometimes. And I really do try to slow down alot of the time,it just doesnt stop coming. We've got a ton of good food as usual, and will probaly have Landon overnite this weekend. Here's hoping that all stay safe and warm and have a great turkey !

sleeping flowers as we've been so busy as usual. Then my sister talked me into facebook. There's not enough time for everything, especially on the computor, then the real stuff {outside} wouldnt get done. Well, the new little shed is completed, and this time with a door too. The woodstove is all done, in the living room, hooked up and running! We just had our last garage sale day this past weekend, and did good for our last day of the season. Everyone is happy we'll be opening in April with lots of new goodies. I was able to sell Landons John Deere and trains on the last day,so some other little tyke will have a nice xmas with those under their tree, and it didnt cost their parents a fortune. All were still in very good condition, but Landons knees were up to his chin, legs too long for it,even though his weight limit was fine. I know the grandparents that bought the John Deere were some excited to see it at the end of the driveway and stopped to buy it,as their grandaughter loves everything John Deere,so I think she'll be one happy little girl. We got most of the yard stuff put away, still the deck furniture/grill to do this weekend. The 1st cord of wood is stacked up under the overhang, and plenty of kindling cut up. We put our order in for 2 cord for next year to my brother,so he'll have plenty of time to season it. We had our coal delivery come and go,and plenty of that on board. Both the furnace and the woodstove can run without electricity, including the kitchen cookstove,so in the event of power failure we'll be warm and can still eat hot food. I did manage to cut back the debris off my 2 new raised beds and make them all tidy for next spring, and the new one got built in front of the mudroom, loaded up with loam-just not planted. The blueberries are all crimson red, whats left of the leaves. We've had an unusual 2 inch trick or treat snowstorm, long since gone. My garlic is all planted and under its blanket of hay. The cat is growing, feisty as a teen, and no place high is safe. He has now claimed right in front of the tv every night, and now discovered how to get up on top of the fridge to take his 3 hr. day naps. My Honda has died we think, over 310,000 miles,so we're just waiting for a day the both of us can go car looking, other than online. We certainly got our moneys worth on that car. Most days he can take the Toyota to work,I can get by with Dads truck and the daughter taking me uptown in the afternoons if I need to go. This is the first fall, no new bulbs got planted,as I was too busy with outside house construction and the garage sale,so next year should be better for that stuff. I still have the window boxes to take care of this weekend. I made my annual pumpkin cake yesterday, just so the guys wont touch the 2 pies I'm about to make till thanksgiving. Well,if I have to bribe them,so be it. Daughter will take me uptown this morning for the last of thanksgiving goodies to be bought. Her car finally got fixed this past week,so now she has heat, and then yesterday her house furnace died, but now thats fixed at $212.00 later. Its a good thing she's also finally back to work to pay for it, she's part-time and likes her job,and most days is done before Landon gets out of school,so she picks him up. We decided the kids would come here for thanksgiving, and its easier for us to go there at xmas time. Then Landon can make a mess at his house and have a blast playing with his toys all day. That sounds better to me already. He's a late sleeper anyways on xmas morning. We sure weren't when we were kids, getting our parents up by 5 am on xmas morning. Lots of good food and company, and even though hubby still has a good list to get thru, not so hurried this weekend finally.
