flower colors.. I really got tired of chasing the star into the field,I had on my gardenshed..I asked Jim to secure it to the building, and he finally got around to it this last week.It shouldn't go anywhere now..The tulips keep slowly inching their way up thru the soil-I now have 8 somethings popping up in that bed,and a few more daffodils popped up- I missed moving,in another bed.I want to redo that bed over this summer-so I will mark them with rocks, and get them moved also.At least here on our property-we now have no snow, and need to get out the lawn mower and leaf thingy, and tidy up the front stretch near the road. I reminded Jim inspection for the truck is coming up and we need to secure the spare tire down, and fix one spot of rust.I quess he wasn't much in the mood for that, as he didnt move too fast on that idea. ok- how about rip & tear?? Apparently that was right up his alley,so we proceeded out to the little camper to figure out what was needed. It had a leak when we bought it,we treated the roof,it lasted for a year. Then we tarped it over for the winter. The floor underneath was in great condition-new rug and laminate floor went in,then we had done some ripping out-but had to stop in the fall. We'd like to use it this summer-so that means get off our butts..almost done taking out the bad insulation-wood,went to Home Depot last night for the supplies so we can get an early start on it today. We went about this a bit backwards-not knowing, amd we didnt realize the roof had that major problem. Its all getting fixed now-and will be a nice small camper by the time we're done, and we look forward to finally being able to use it.The materials only came to $50,so its mostly a labor thing. This time, when we do the roof from the outside-we'll use the good stuff, and should be able to get at least another 15 years out of it.Other than the roof leak- it was a one owner camper and you could tell they took care of it. The woman re-did the cushions and curtains, and did a nice job.My brother and nephew, love to sleep out there during the summer,so its a great spare bedroom for company. Now we''re getting excited about getting this done & on the road, and it'll go up north with us for the summer-while we work on the house.I managed to load up the "free pile" a number of times, very little went to the dump.If it doesn't rain today- I'll do another, and pretty soon we'll be able to walk around the inside of the garage..lol. This year I'd like to plant some flowers out in front of the fence to add some needed color. Its a dark fence with full sun-so probaly white would show up better against the dark color, and goes with the white trim on the house...

time for hoe-out.. A little chilly out-but certainly tolerable- between 45-50*. I started tackling the last bay clean-out,with a huge "Free PIle",and got lots of action. Today,I'll do the same. As I am determined that the cars will be able to park in the garage next winter,I told Jim I only needed 3 good days out there. Two bays are/were packed full, but some stuff like old smelly xmas paper is ready for the dump. A mouse had attempted to nest, making a small mess, and then froze to death-sticking to the floor,so he scraped that nasty mess up for me.Yuck. I can now park the little car in there,he couldn't believe I got that far. Still have more totes/boxes to go thru, but at least its manageable now.Today I'll tackle the middle bay. He got the electric wire on the wall-breaker box next-and a little work to do on the truck. My flower shoots poked up another 1/2 inch-and in another spot I see crocus leaves-even though I dont remember putting them there. The mole-vole is doing a number on the lawn this year-and I'll leave him alone, as they eat the jap grubs, but he sure is making a mess,so he/she better be earning its keep.I'll have to venture to the shed for more hooks to hang stuff,-but I know I wont like it when I open the door,so maybe more will go on the free pile.

camping this summer.. As fast as those snowstorms came in, just as fast our spring arrived! Within a span of 3 weeks we have lost 3/4 of our snow. We've never seen it go this fast-especially with no flooding. Landon & I were able to walk around the yard and pick up the trash that blew into the property yesterday, him eating an ice cream- me picking up the trash.Mostly its the blueberry orchard and to that side that has the snow. I can even get into the gardenshed with no problem-but didnt want to go in there yet,as I know I'd start hauling stuff out and we may still get a spring snowstorm. We've had 40's and 50,just about everyday-looks like the rain missed us this week, but one good rain and it would be all gone.We only had a few days that the driveway mucked up,now its drying good.3 days ago Jim was near the spring front flower bed-drudging thru snow, and I said,"look and see if you see anything popping up," as it was uncovered.Nope he didnt see anything. But yesterday-since I had my boots on, I took a trudge out there, and low and behold, I have 1/2 dozen something sprouting!! Racking my brain to remember what I put in that spot-but I quess I'll have to wait and see.The soil was quite soggy-and I know bulbs don't like soggy,so I'm hoping just them being on a raised slant drains it good.I know theres tulips-Alliums,iris,daffodils, hyacinths-but what else I can't remember.I will peek again today, and hang the windchime that fell down.He used up all the insulation we had left for the garage ceiling-just have to buy a little more and we're finished with that project. It looks like this year-I'll be bringing more bulbs and perennials home from the house up north,as we're planning on doing some fixing up -up there, and put it on the market. Its loaded in the front with perennials, and could stand to be tamed just a bit. We've revamped our home to-do list, and will spend all available time up there to get it situated, and only what needs to be done here outside..As its a 5 hr drive,we'll do mostly weekends.Hopefully we can get the camper leak fixed-and take that with us and leave it there for the summer. The whole inside{3 bedroom} needs painting,so I hope I have some oomph! left over to dig up flowers.

the smell is in the air... After the huge mother load of a storm at the beginning of the month- nature calmed down a bit-now we're springing into spring~!! The weather turned high 40's and has hit 50* twice, this week all 40's during the day. It will still get cold at night- but nothing like this winter. My Amaryallis finally bloomed-one of them. The woodstove came in and its down cellar awaiting to be all hooked up for next year. I actually have small patches of grass appearing!! The front is all grass now too. Well-dang-if I had some crocus out there-I'd have flowers by now!! I quess I know what I'll be doing this fall for the front, as thats the first place for snow to leave. The wind aneometer is up and recording all data so we can track it. We get some good wind here. After the snow goes- he will mount it on the peak of the garage.I'm washing windows, putting up new Thermals and rods, and spring cleaning while there's still time...before the yard gets me.
