tongue twisters.. Making its way across the country, getting to us later this morning. Here in the northeast- we're expecting 6-14 inches again.Again,Jim switched his day off,and will probaly go in a bit later tomorrow as well,or take a vaca day.Their saying our coast will probaly get the freezing rain-sleet mess that hammered the other side of the nation, but we'll be a snow event in the central part of Maine. All our winter events & activities are doing well here, provided one has a job that you can afford the exspense of extra entertainment. We dont own a snowmobile, but there are plenty crossing the fields in back of us enjoying the depth of the snow base this year-besides we have enough entertainment in remodeling.Seems like we havent seen this much snow since the early 80's.We're all set I think- the last storms' snow scooped out and pushed back quite a bit, knowing we still have 2 full months to go.I've been working on straightening out my pantry, cleaning and chucking.I bought a toaster/convection oven so as not to heat up the kitchen during the warmer months, and for simpler items like a baked potato. The microwave doesnt do a good job on baked potatoes.Since the shoveling up on the roof gets a little too happy-carried away-?..we've damaged a couple shingles that created leaks,in addition to the leaks that are already there and havent found out why yet.Anyways, this summer the whole roof will be sealed,as the exspense of metal roofing just isnt in the budget yet.The sealer should hold it till we can afford the metal job. This morning he'll do a small patch job he says, that'll hold it till we can seal it all later during warmer weather. After Landon & I followed the sound of the drip, then checked out the window to see where it was coming from, found the bad shingle,he looked at me and said "Pappa gonna fix it-? I said yes..he will. Landon said "I think theres a "Poawbwemm". Yes-there is I said, but Pappa is so very good and he can fix that"...now that was a Kodiak moment...

ho-humm.. Well, that snowstorm turned out a measly 3 inches if that, but this last one made up for that. A whopping 14 inches!! Needless to say- all is a bright white now. Jim had a 4 day off,so that turned out well also,to clear all that snow.We brought the solar panel inside-in the dining room so I can chalk it today-we'll add the metal and air channels-then take it back out to the garage for spray painting and be done with that. Only thing we're gearing up for now is sheetrocking the upper walls in the living room in the early part of next month.Thats a bit messy, but will be so glad when its done. We're coming into another artic blast weekend-I hope this is the last of that, we can take alot of snow-just not the below chill factors. We're well into our winter lull,so doing little projects to make the time pass till gardening weather and thats about it....

mr. winds ablowin'..
Depending on where you are in this great state is what your gonna get I quess. Snow-sleet-freezing rain they say is rolling in tomorrow. anywhere from 6-10 inches. Its been quiet the last 2 weeks with weather-just alot of winds.Jim will go in today-and take tomorrow off instead. The cellar is chilly- but no winds blowing thru now.The hot water tank is wrapped, and we finally got the beginning of the solar collector started.Alot of the snow has slowly disappeared from the fog-winds-but now I'm ready- bring it on..I got my Toro shovel to try out.I got about 1/2 way taking down xmas decor-will do more today.Landon and I both came down with small head colds right after the 1st swim day-but lots of good soup for me,and plenty of "Airborne" on hand, seems to be working.I should own stock in Puffs Plus for sure..he seems to be bouncing back ok too-even though he's not eating my delightful cabbage soup.I'm ready to make another batch. The"Puffs" is one item I insist of keeping stocked on the shelf all year long-as I well remember the painful red-raw nose from blowing, during the childhood stage.I havent found another tissue that even comes close yet.Its funny when they finally come out with a good product and you get hooked on it.With Jim, its A-1 sauce for steak.I tried bringing home other brands- but he's just not satisfied with any other brand,so now I just make sure I've got the A-1 on hand. The Amaryallis (sp) is just peeking up thru the bulb now-I'll get my flowers late as I was a slow poke bringing them up from the cellar.I've never fertilized them but this year they got new potting soil- so I'll pick some up on the next trip to the store.I've got 4 new babies this year.As long as I keep the blooms out of direct sunlight they last a long time.I hadn't thought about my flower bed for some time till yesterday, and thinking about whats going to pop up in the front bed is surely Anticipation....ok now we're past the longest day of the year stage-(hump season-unofficial),,gaining another 10 minutes a day-so it only gets better from here..
