God created wide open spaces, and lots of green grass. And along came a woman, who promptly filled it up & added more color. I know its some weird biological nesting thing to plant. The thing is-there's no stopping till nature tells us we have to stop-because its gonna snow, you ding-a-ling. Now thats a bit frustrating..then I have to appease myself with drawing out designs & lists of my favorite things to plant, and read. And read...and look at more pics. When we moved here-almost 5 yrs ago,it was pretty bare. I've managed to fill it pretty good-but I can see I have a longer ways to go & dream. I suppose because its on a busy main route-that it was overlooked by many, wishing to buy a house. We decided it was perfect for us-not too big-not too small. Something we could grow into, and if the day should ever come that we need some space from each other-I can go into the Gardenshed & just never come out. Just send me a tray full of food- & a porta pottie and I'd be happy. I must have 4 yrs. worth of seeds to plant to keep me occupied. And then I could start on root cuttings...yup I'd be ok and survive...Talking to plants. Does anyone else talk to their plants? I do. Actually some of the time-I just scare the bejeezers out of them. If their not acting right- sometimes I just threaten them with a pull-up. I've actually had plants straighten up and act right after that. Weird....
Hard to believe we've got this pile down to a reasonable height now. It was 4 times that size. All the building debris had to be picked over-some to the dump-some could be burned. 2007-It was a huge separate garage & shed attached to the backside of the house. Both were old -rotted-leaning-leaking..some of my bulbs had to be moved out of season- but I just shot a pic of them out back and they are doing fine-except in the hurriness that I moved them, I put them in the Hosta bed- where its only part sun-so its taking them longer to open up.Anyways- it was Taco's by the fire,we're through with the bigger stress mode of outside construction for now.But soon the tractor shed gets built- and I'm already dreaming whats going to be planted out on that south side. The contractor was teaching Landon how to read the bubble on the level. Now we have a new 2 bay garage-full cement across with a carport. Before we had barely any shade at all as there's no trees, but now we've got shade from the buildings,,and I can now incorporate Lily of the Valley-Bleeding Hearts, more Hosta's,more Black Cohosh. I just have to wait till he's done digging up this place. Out where the fire was I tried some Johnny Jump-ups,but I quess they got swallowed up by the weeds. I now have a nice patch in a more groomed bed, some in the window box, and more in a pot. They are such a jolly fun flower-no-one can be in a bad mood if they look at them...I didn;t do any mail order flowers this year- just the local nursery & seeds. The seeds I have are 2 drawers full in the garden shed.So I figured I better get planting some. Next year I try root probagation cuttings.I love my gardenshed-don't spend nearly enough time out there as I want to.Right now I'm too busy planting-mowing-and all the other stuff.
