Spent this morning at the Veteran's Day parade and celebrations. Supporting our troops, past and present is something I believe we should do.
Then I went to a couple of crafty boutiques and shoppes, found my gift for the ornament exchange. I am excited about doing that, I am enjoying that. I don't know my person very well, but was very excited about shopping for her/him. It is fun to shop for someone you dont know..LOL I certainly hope my gift is something they will enjoy for years to come.
Spent the afternoon, mowing the leaves, blowing leaves off the deck and general cleanup. I dug up all my geraniums to try to winter over in my basement. Ronsgarden suggested it, so I am giving it a try. Also dug up some of my cannas, dahlias and other tender bulbs to winter over along with them. Still seems to have lots to do. Never ending gardening chores.. LOL

Finally I have been able to spend a couple of hours in the garden. With so much going on it has been difficult. My sister left for home today after spending a couple of weeks, waiting at the hospital, sleeping in hospital chairs etc. I am very grateful for her company while my hubby was a patient. It is the most time we have spent together since childhood! My youngest daughter and her family came for the weekend and that was nice too.
I got out in the garden for awhile, cutting back my water lily, pulling weeds, digging up cannas and dahlia bulbs and putting away some of my garden art and decorations. I still have several things to do, but it is just too windy !!! Still no rain and none in sight!! People here are still hauling water to their wells and waiting for a nice rainy day.
