I am so excited about this plant! Someone here on GG sent it to me as a tiny thing 2 years ago (I can't remember who) and I worried with it , and it seemd to just "be". This spring I re-potted it in a much bigger pot and Z O O M! It took off! It is now blooming and so exotic looking! It has been recommended to put it in the ground-and I want to-but where!!
Isn't it just gorgeous! Imagine a whole shrub covered in these blooms! Got to keep the dang kitten out of the pot!
This Texas Star HIbiscus is a volunteer from the neighbor's yard. I have a few coming up in various spots around the yard-It is an exotic looking flower, too. I need to plant these tropical things near something leafy and get the "Island" look going
It's been extremely dry at my house. It rained a good "frog strangler" here at the shop yesterday-Not a drop at my house. I have pulled up 2 tomatoes, cut back one, pulled the cucumbers and 1 pepper plant. But these hot peppers keep on a-going. I pickled some bell peppers with hot peppers to have in the winter with gumbo and rice and gravy and MAN they are good! Crispy, and just hot enough! I used my bread & butter recipe, and cut out some of the sugar, added more salt and oh gosh! I amazed myself!
I still have eggplant producing, and they will until frost. Looks like it will be stuffed peppers again in a few days with eggplant dressing. In about a month I will plant another couple of cucumbers and some more squash, since I didn't make very many. Right now, it's hot and dry and BUGGY.
