This is a pot of tulips that I buried last fall. I bury the pot up to the top edge and cover with leaves and straw. A couple of weeks ago I noticed green starts coming up. A week ago, I dug it up and brought it inside into the warm air. The tulips jumped up and you could almost see them growing. Today they are beginning to bloom. Hooray for spring.
These beauty's are beginning to bloom while the freezing zone is still upon us. They are the first blooms that hold the promise of a spring bursting into reality. Behold the beauty of the Lenten Rose.
