I think it's supposed to go to 36 degrees in Atlanta, which means since we are northwest a bit, it may hit freezing tonite in Marietta. We've had some crazy gusty, cold winds today....despite the sunshine it was quite "brisk" shall we say...LOL! Pecans are falling, i've been filling up the baskets. Cold weather always makes them come down quicker, i've noticed. The crows like to gather around the trees, too, and eat the pecans....they peck holes in them, they must have iron beaks! They much such a racket sometimes. I saw about 50 crows on one tree over the weekend, and they were absolutely the noisiest thing in the neighborhood that day! I'd rather hear the crows, though, than blowers, car horns, and all other manner of man-made noise!
I picked the last of my bell peppers, tomatoes and such in preparation for a possible freeze, and have all of my plants in that would be affected (I Hope!!) So....i think i'm ready. Ready in that sense, anyhow. I am not keen on cold weather, but it usually isn't cold for long periods of time here where i live. It will probably be back up in the sixties next week...LOL!
Hope everyone had a lovely Monday.....i am glad to have made it through it myself! Have a nice evening, all!
Well it's that time of year isn't it? It finally got to a temperature where i felt i could get outside for more than an hour at a time. I went outside after i got home from work tonite and worked in the yard until dark, cleaning up my potting area and stacking all my pots neatly, then raking a bit, knowing more leaves will fall...LOL! My plan is to actually have the yard cleaned up this year before spring! (if that happens it will be a first in quite a long time!) :-) If anyone has any kind of clean-up tips/ideas please share! Anyway i sure am glad for the break in the weather. Now if it will just rain some more. I guess i will be up early tomorrow watering all my potted plants and perhaps even some in the ground. It's been about a week since it rained and things are getting a bit dry again. I think i should perhaps move somewhere else where it rains more. I am sooooo tired of drought and water restrictions and crispy plants! (Thanks for letting me vent) Ya'll have a good night and a great day tomorrow! :-)
