sunburned Nana This post has been edited by an administrator
My back is sunburned from the lake, but we had fun.The grands didn't want to leave. This week I have Mercedes for 3 days. We have to go feed a friend's rabbits, stop by Dave's, check on his figs.Mercedes loves to sew, so we can do our sewing project.Susan wants us to make a cape she can use to cut kids hair. I got to make a batch of cookies for the kids@ church.Every week there's a different country the kids learn about.I try to make cookies from that country.
I got some Datura from a friend & elephant ears.I planted a blue flower I got from Lowes clearance.Posted the pics, can't figure out out to post on my blog. I dodn't know what the blue is.Hope someone will know.
My day will be busy, hope everyone has a blessed day, happy gardening.Diane
Here's your blue flower. I hope that you don't mind my putting it in your blog for you. I hope someone can help you identify it.
I've been keeping my grandson Tanner past two days. He's 11, His sister went to a camp for 3 days, That boy loves to stay outside. We've cut the grass, repaired the back poarch railing, filled in some of the huge holes in my driveway. I did finally get him to stay in the house awhile, we tied some blocks on this quilt I'm working on.Today I'm watering, then making cookies for the kids group that I help out with on wed. nites.
Tomorrow I'm taking both kids swiming. My friend Linda has wanted to take us to this lake she goes too.I'm helping to keep the kids minds off the nasty divorce their parents are going through.Next week, I'll have Mercedes for 3 days.
I got 3 plants on clearance @ Lowes, a bearded tounge, Gerber daisy, & a blue flower.Have to get it's pic. as I don't know what it is. Got to pull up green bean plants, then plant sweet taters plants. They were given to me.Got maters coming in, so will be canning too. Egg plant is growing.Be eating it soon.
I found a U pick farm.Picked purple hull peas, yesterday evening. They were $5.00 a bushell. I can't grow them that cheap. Grand kids labor will shell them today. I missed out on her corn, will go back thurs. evening & pick another variety of peas.My maters are riping, so I'll be canning too. Dave's figs are coming in, so have to go pick them & make him some jams. And myself of course.
Thank goodness we got rain sunday nite. A inch is better than nothing, thank the Lord.Picked up son's lawnmower, my yard looks like a jungle. Now I have to weedeater around my bushes.Lawnmower repair was more than getting my air fix in my truck.Have to rake, looks like hay has been cut. Goats will eat good. Rascal will get the pea hulls, he loves peas.
I'll go get the grands today. We got peas to shell & race cars to finish.Tanner will build a ramp for us. I'll be a tired Nana tonite, but I enjoy it. We have a sewing project to do also.

Hibiscus blooming This post has been edited by an administrator
I took pics of my Hibiscus in full bloom.Am saving seeds.Having a time dragging hoses & keeping everything watered.
Grands was over tuesday. We sanded & painted little wooden cars. Mercedes painted a bird house. Now we got to get my son to make us a ramp so we can race. They played with the new baby goat,a little billy. We made their mom,Susan, her favorite dessert. Was a long day but fun. Nana was worn out.
My cukes are turning yellow before they get big enough to pick. I guessing it's the heat. Suppose to get near the 100 mark again.Maters are finally turning, be caning soon.
Everyone stay cool, have a blessed day, take care, Diane
